    Nintendo's 'Mario Tennis Aces' combines charm with surprising depth

    Before Mario Tennis Aces appears in stores and on your Switch, Nintendo offered up a weekend of tournament play to whet appetites and convince you to preorder its first in-house sport title for the Switch. The demo sticks to purely tournament play, and while we didn't get the chance to play one another, there's something addictive here. That is, once you've figured out what the heck's going on. Two editors offer their very early impressions.

    Get your first taste of 'Mario Tennis Aces' on Switch this weekend

    If you can't wait to try out Mario Tennis Aces, which is coming to the Switch on June 22nd, Nintendo has some good news for you. The company is hosting a pre-launch online tournament starting today, June 1st, at 6:00 PM PT through Sunday, June 3rd, at 11:59 PM PT. To participate, all you have to do is download the free demo from the Nintendo eShop or from the Mario Tennis Aces website.

    ‘Dark Souls’ and 'Mario Tennis' join Switch's 2018 lineup

    Nintendo revealed another slew of titles that will come to the Switch, from old favorites and cult classics to, uh, Dark Souls. In today's Nintendo Direct video, the company announced new Kirby and Mario Tennis games headed to the console, plus a couple indie games and re-releases. There's also DLC coming for some of the console's best games, including Super Mario Odyssey, Pokkén Tournament DX and Mario + Rabbids.

    Yesterday's topic got us thinking about another awesome game set to come out this year: Super Mario Galaxy. As we're sure you've noticed, there have been a few of these Mario games over the years (and spin-offs!), and each one tends to have something special. Then there are remakes, tie-ins ... Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis ... is there anything the crew can't do? But that isn't the question on the table. The question is: what's your favorite of the Mario games? Since there are so many different types and styles, we won't fuss if you choose a few favorites instead of just one.
