If you're playing Final Fantasy XI these days, you can't have missed the most recent Mog Bonanza giveaway, and it's quite likely that you bought a few marbles hoping to get at least the last digit right. But considering how quiet the game has been in terms of updates, you can be forgiven for not realizing that today is the day when the winning numbers are announced. That means that players can see if they won some of the valuable prizes, which include Empyrean weapons, piles of gil, and various furnishings. The winning numbers are 35041, as shown in the system message displayed when logging into the game. Players have until Monday, February 21st to claim any and all prizes, so it's best to log in quickly and pick up your winnings. Remember, the more digits you get right, the better the prize, so as long as your number ended in 041 you get to pick up a Rank 3 prize. If you didn't win, however, don't despair -- the event does tend to turn up in Final Fantasy XI more than once a year, it seems.

The Mog Bonanza is coming back for another celebration of a new year in Final Fantasy XI, giving players the chance to earn insane prizes without doing anything more arduous than guessing a number correctly. Of course, it's a five-digit number that you only get one real shot at guessing right, so there's a good cause behind the quality of prizes -- mountains of gil, Empyrean weapons, and unique furnishings for your in-game home. As with prior events, you get prizes as long as you guess the last number correctly, with better prizes awarded the more digits you get correct. Marbles go on sale for the price of 2000 gil starting on December 22nd, and with a grand total of 10 marbles per character, you can at least ensure that you wind up winning a statue -- or try to go for broke with maximum possible earnings. Take a look at the full list of prizes on the official site, and start guessing your numbers now, as it's a chance to earn fantastic Final Fantasy XI prizes for just a little bit of work.

After one iteration at the start of the new year and another run that coincided with VanaFest 2010, you would think that Final Fantasy XI was done with the Mog Bonanza for a while. But you'd apparently be wrong, as the official site has just announced that it will be running once again. But it's kind of understandable when you realize it's to celebrate the momentous eight-year milestone the game is hitting. That's a fine reason for players to start up the number-guessing engine in their heads again, especially when the rewards are still more wonderful prizes for every adventurer. Most of the rules from prior offerings still apply here -- a maximum of ten marbles per character, with prizes handed out in ascending ranks. Getting just the last digit right nets some small but pleasing prizes, while getting all five brings huge piles of gil or rare equipment. While it's not on par with the Relic and Mythic weapons offered at VanaFest, they're still desirable for almost any player. So mark your calendar foor May 16th, when marbles go on sale, and enjoy a solid eight years of Final Fantasy XI.

The Mog Bonanza has come to an end, and whether you won or lost your chance at the valuables has passed... or has it? Final Fantasy XI's upcoming fan festival, VanaFest 2010, has a chance for players to redeem their luck or go for a repeat success. The Nomad Mog Bonanza will be a special live repeat of the celebrated event at the convention, with more wonderful in-game prizes for players to win -- and this time, you don't have to drop one red gil to get in on the fun. All players with a PlayOnline ID linked to a Square-Enix ID can pick one set of five numbers as their entry. As with the in-game event, the prizes depend on how many numbers you got right from the last digit upward. There's a one-in-ten chance of at least getting the lowest-ranked prize, in other words. The numbers will be drawn and announced on the 28th, the day of the event, and will be likely shared by the official Twitter and Facebook feeds soon thereafter. Entries end on the 21st, so get on over, read the official conditions, and hope you can beat those one-in-one-hundred-thousand odds for some of the best prizes in Final Fantasy XI!

Picking numbers for a contest always defaults to something familiar - your zip code, your birthdate, the number of times police have been called to your house because you were shouting so much the neighbors thought you were assaulting someone. At least that way you can blame cosmic randomness instead of just guessing wrong. The many residents of Final Fantasy XI can start blaming fate, as the winning numbers for the Moggy New Year Bonanza have been announced, right on schedule. In ascending order, the winning number for the Rank 5 prize is 8, Rank 4 is 9-6, Rank 3 is 7-3-3, Rank 2 is 1-1-6-4, and the supreme Rank 1 winning numbers are 5-8-8-4-6. The official site has assembled a small chart showing both the winning numbers and the number of winners of each prize category. Over five hundred thousand players won the Rank 5 prize, narrowing to only 43 people winning the top award. Of course, there's a limited timeframe to pick up your prize -- anything not claimed by February 15th will be lost forever, so it's best to move in quickly to pick up your reward. Congratulations to those who won, and for those who didn't, well, a Shadow Lord statue isn't that cool.

1-2-3-4-5 might not be the combination on your luggage, but it could fetch you a tidy sum of gil or some rare items in Final Fantasy XI in the near future. The third iteration of the Mog Bonanza event is incoming, and those five digits might be the key to riches. Or to irritation at having thrown money away on a ridiculous gamble. Starting on December 24th, all characters who have been in existence for at least 45 days may purchase a Mog Bonanza marble, which then is inscribed with five digits of the player's choice. On January 29th, 2010, a set of winning numbers will be chosen. Of course, you might argue that your odds of getting exactly the right five numbers are rather low (1 in 100,000 or so), which is true. But luckily for everyone involved, it's easier to win than matching the whole number. The best prizes go to those who match all five numbers, but even if just the last digit of your chosen numbers match the picked numbers, you win a reward. Your odds of that are about 1 in 10, which isn't a bad deal. For the full rules and the details of the rewards, take a look at the official page, and start dreaming of high-powered artifacts and buckets of gil in Final Fantasy XI. (We recommend 8-1-5-1-6, if you're so inclined.)

Adventurers of Vana'diel, you only have six more days to throw your gil at the popular virtual lottery, Mog Bonanza! Yes, that's right, the Mogs are once again offering up fabulous prizes for anyone willing to purchase a few lottery marbles! This year's grand prize of gil has changed, however, from a flat rate prize to a percentage of the proceeds generated from marble sales. For example, rank 1's gil prize will be half of the proceeds from marble sales divided equally amongst all of the people who won the grand prize and chose gil as their payout.Otherwise, the contest has remained pretty much as is, with items like the Kraken Club and Novio Earring making appearances once again on the grand prize list. Even if you don't match all six digits, there are still plenty of lucrative prizes to leap at, making purchasing marbles totally worth it.Marbles are 2000 gil a pick and can be purchased from Bonanza Moogles stationed at all of the ports of the capital cities and the Chocobo Circuit.
