God, are we really doing this again? OK, fine. For the fourth (yes, fourth) year running, my brother (and fellow Joystiq editor) Griffin McElroy and I are going to watch the VGAs so you don't have to. Traditionally, we make fun of them in the cruelest and most profanity-laden way possible, but maybe they'll, you know, be really great this year? Like, super duper classy? ... Maybe? Bookmark this page and let's find out together after the break at 8 p.m. EST. %Gallery-110364%

Activision has announced that Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will play host to a cavalcade of Spidey-related voice talent when it's released on September 7. The Spider-Men of each universe will be voiced by actors who have played the web-slinger in the past. Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Keaton, Christopher Daniel Barnes and Dan Gilvezan will voice the Amazing, Ultimate, Noir and 2099 variants, respectively. Harris originally voiced the wall-crawler in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series; Keaton had the role in The Spectacular Spider-Man; Barnes played the part in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series; and, finally, Gilvezan voiced ol' web-head in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends way back in the early '80s. If that's still not enough for the true believers out there, Stan Lee himself will serve as the game's narrator. Meanwhile, Jim Dooley, composer for several games and films (The Da Vinci Code, inFamous), will provide the soundtrack. Now, if only someone at Beenox could find a way to squeeze in Bruce Campbell ... Find the press release after the break.

  • Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Van Zandt pop some culture in newest WoW commercials

Blizzard is apparently a marketing genius, because the most recent World of Warcraft commercials are new high watermarks. Of course the're all about Wrath of the Lich King, and of course they feature famous people pretending they play WoW. But they're also something else: completely awesome. We've got Ozzy Osbourne arguing with Arthas over who's the real Prince of Darkness and then we've got The Sopranos actor Steve Van Zandt opining about being pulled back into the game. Love 'em or hate 'em, these commercials are pure brilliance for their humor and ability to convey the social acceptance -- or "coolness", if you will -- of tapping away at your mouse and keyboard all night long. Of course, if Blizzard really wants to impress us, they'd get Neil Patrick Harris. Nobody pimps a product like NPH. Find both videos after the break.

Remember a long time ago (OK, so it was at 8 a.m) when we complained about Eat Lead's generic game design and other problems we spotted during a demonstration? Well, forget them, because they've just been rendered moot by star power. What kind of stars, you ask? Well, how about Will Arnett of Arrested Development fame as lead Matt Hazard? Still not sold? OK, fair enough. But what if were were to promise ... ready? ... Doogie Houser himself, Neil Patrick Harris as publishing boss Wallace "Wally" Wellesley?! Yeah, we thought you'd change your tune.Take note, game publishers: Put NPH in your games and you can make them as generic as you please. Hell, we're ready to fax D3 our $60, just to make sure we Eat Lead as soon as possible. We're suckers like that.
