You may want to hold off on replaying God of War for the umpteenth time, at least for the next few days. Sony is rolling out New Game+ on August 20th, giving your next round of mythological father-and-son bonding new elements to make it a bit different than before. One of those elements is something speedrunners and grinders would love: the ability to skip cinematic scenes. You'll even be able to skip cinematics in normal mode after beating the game in New Game+ for the first time.

Deep into the first intermission at the Sony PlayStation E3 event today in Los Angeles, Stu Shuman asked President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America Shawn Layden about the possibility of New Game+ for God of War. Layden made no bones about it: the mode is coming to the triple A exclusive title.

If, like me, you're already deep into the intricate world of Dishonored 2, be prepared to keep playing for a while. Bethesda just revealed that the title's first free update will include a "New Game Plus" mode, which will give you full access to the skills from its two heroes, Emily and Corvo. Up until now, each character could only use abilities within their specific skill trees. In a New Game Plus playthrough, which is unlocked after beating the game, you'll be able to use Emily's "Mesmerize" to stun an enemy and then follow it up with Corvo's ability to summon man-eating rats. You know, as one does in the Empire of the Isles.

  • Paranormal thriller 'Oxenfree' hits PS4 in May

Oxenfree is an acid trip wrapped in an enigma and smothered in nacho cheese -- and on May 31st, it's coming to PlayStation 4. Oxenfree hit Steam and Xbox One in January, and both of these versions get upgrades on May 31st, too. Developer Night School Studio created a New Game+ mode for the Steam, Xbox One and PS4 editions, allowing those who have already finished Oxenfree to dive back in and experience a new, yet familiar, adventure. New Game+ includes fresh dialogue choices, new locations and alternate endings (on top of the game's multiple existing conclusions). "We've heard emphatic, wildly differing opinions on how the game ended, both giddy and rage-filled," Night School co-founder Sean Krankel says. "So, without getting too spoilery, we wanted to make something that let those players push on the surreal rules that govern the island even more by holding up a proverbial mirror to the creatures they've been dealing with. This mode is definitely for the true fans."
