Kids have it all these days -- tailor-made gadgets, their own little corners in mobile platforms, and of course, loads and loads of content. The latest to hit the wires is the Nick app for the iPad, offering a slew of Nickelodeon programming wrapped in a swipe-driven, tyke-friendly interface. The goodies include animated shorts, videos, games, the ability to mark favorites, plus a smorgasbord of funny interactive elements and a "Do Not Touch" button that promises disruptive fun. Full episodes of the current shows can also be accessed if you've subscribed to Nickelodeon's TV package via any one of eight providers. Seems like a swell way to keep those tech-savvy rug rats occupied between outdoor adventures and some DIY action. The 45MB payload is waiting at the source link, yours for the hard-to-argue cost of free.

One of the many wonderful things about Guild Wars is the fact that once you've paid for it, you can jump in and out without having to worry about a subscription fee. There's none of that "I'm paying for this monthly, I should play it exclusively" going on. Another of the great things is the care that went into crafting the graphics in-game, such as this lovely scene sent in to us today by Nick. He writes in: I just got back into Guild Wars after some expenses made me quit playing pay to play MMOs -- and watching the trailer for Guild Wars 2. Here we have Moris Linth with his party searching for Arred the Unready near Fahranur, the First City. It was here [that] I saw great scenery with some ruins. Here's to hoping Guild Wars 2 can bring screens like this! MMOs from big to small, we want to see them all! Just send in your screenshots to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a brief description. We'll post them out here and give you the credit for sending them in. %Gallery-9798%

iCarly iGo to Japan doesn't air until November 8, but it's available early on Comcast video on demand, along with four episodes in standard and high definition, plus behind the scenes clips. Enough to keep your tween from demanding a switch to another provider that has the Nickelodeon HD channel available? Maybe not, but we expect this won't be the last cross promotion run while Comcast uses Project Infinity to narrow the HD gap.

MTV-owned Nickelodeon recently announced plans to add a whopping 1,600 Flash games to its network of web sites. That might sound like a lot, until you consider that the children's network already controls roughly 5,000 web games that reach over 20 million users every month.Sure, a good proportion of those games are probably Space Invaders clones found at the acquisition AddictingGames.com. But the Nick portfolio also includes some deep, popular virtual worlds like Neopets and Nicktropolis, and the company has announced they'll be creating three more kid-focused, web-based MMOs in the future. When exactly did the first kids network become the first kids gaming network?

For its third fiscal quarter through the holiday season, publisher THQ saw their sales boost to $509.6 million but profits down to $15.5 million (via Gamasutra). Comparatively, last year they had $475.7 million in sales (a 7% raise) and $62.1 million in profit (a 75% drop). THQ also had $27 million in non-cash charges due to the cancellations of Juiced and Stuntman.Big sellers include THQ's licenses. Life to date sales from Nickelodeon projects total $1 billion, and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 enjoyed a whopping five million in unit sales -- behold the power of licensing.

Spongebob is ON SALE! You can pick up an entire season of Spongebob for just 21 bucks--rather than the normal $40. Apple and Nickelodeon are running a Summertime stock-up-on-Nick sale with titles ranging from Dora to Invader Zim to the Fairly Oddparents. If you've got a kid, and you've got some loooong family trips coming up or if you've just got an embarassing but potentially treatable familial TV-viewing habit, now is the time to stock up on Nick at iTunes. Yadi yadi limited time blah blah blah.
