With a little more than a week before Death Stranding launches on November 8th, Sony has shared an eight-minute-long launch trailer for Hideo Kojima's next opus. Don't go into the trailer with the expectation to get a better sense of the game's story; more likely, you'll come out the other side with more questions than answers. It wouldn't be a Kojima game otherwise.

Silent Hills, at least as it was originally conceived, is no more. The next chapter of the once-popular horror series had built considerable hype off the back of a fantastic playable teaser, P.T., which was released last summer. When solved the teaser offered up a trailer for a new Silent Hill game, revealing that Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus were all on board. According to both del Toro and Reedus, that is no longer the case. At the San Francisco International Film Festival, del Toro was quoted as saying that his collaboration with Kojima is "not gonna happen." Norman Reedus later tweeted an article reporting the game is canceled, adding he's "super bummed" about the news, and Konami has confirmed to Eurogamer that its contract period with the actor has "expired."

The mysterious interactive horror game Sony teased during its Gamescom press conference? It may just be a window into the future of Konami's Silent Hill franchise. Completing the interactive teaser while streaming on Twitch, user "SoapyWarpig" unlocked a cutscene featuring a desolate town. After title cards reveal a collaboration between Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and Hellboy director Guillermo Del Toro, the camera pulls out to reveal the cutscene's only character, The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus. Then a title card reaches into our cold dead hearts and massages them back to life with the words: Silent Hills. Is it a game? A digital film? The greatest hoax perpetuated by man? We've asked Konami for details and our friends for a brown paper bag for us to finish hyperventilating in.

Terminal Reality's The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a first-person shooter based on AMC's television series, which is of course based on The Walking Dead comic series from Robert Kirkman. It's the first new-media extrapolation to be based on something based on The Walking Dead, rather than on the graphic novel itself, which is probably a smart move when a game directly from the comic has already proven extremely successful. All that said, Survival Instinct integrates AMC's TV show directly, grabbing Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Daryl Dixon, to voice the main protagonist."Norman is super-cool, generous, and a real joy to work with," writes Terminal Reality Creative Director Drew Haworth. "And man, does that guy deliver! He gets the scene, the line, and what you're going for instantly and then doubles down on it, effortlessly 'Darylizing' lines for maximum punch. He's the kind of actor that really makes writers look good."From our own experience with the TV show, we have to agree with that last statement. No one on The Walking Dead nails "looking dramatically at another cast member, in silence, for five whole minutes" quite like Reedus.

The Boondock Saints Video Game has just been announced at during a panel at the SXSW Interactive festival in Austin, TX. After a solid hour of women asking the film's cast to sign various parts of their bodies (seriously), an extremely brief trailer was shown for the title, which consisted of a camera fly-through of a seedy alleyway and two motionless character models of the Saints.Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and David Della Rocco are contributing their voices to their respective characters, and will be part of the game's ongoing creative process, but beyond that no further information was given regarding platform availability or an expected release window.%Gallery-150485%
