Just $799? Wait, really? Indeed, it's quite hard to grasp that the Samsung QX410 costs under $800, and when you hear about what you get for the money, you'll understand exactly why. The system not only packs some seriously impressive specs -- a Core i5 processor, NVIDIA GeForce 310M GPU with Optimus, and a 640GB hard drive – but it's also got an aluminum lid, flush glass 14-inch display, and is just an inch thick. And on top of all of that, you can stream video to your TV with Intel's WiDi and get on a fast WiMAX network without an extra dongle. So yeah, on paper it's a killer deal, but after spending a week with the rig do we still feel the same way? Or do we suggest you keep shaking the piggy bank until you can come up with an extra $200 for the Envy 14 or a Dell XPS 14? Find out in our full review! %Gallery-109374%

Well, in Canada at least. Sammy's QX410 is listed as "backordered" on America's Best Buy portal, but it's bound to make its online debut in short order -- in fact, we're hearing that they're already popping up on retail shelves. For those in need of a refresher, this 14.1-incher ships with a silver lining (and enclosure, too), 2.53GHz Core i5 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 640GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, SD / SDHC / SDXC card reader, NVIDIA's 512MB GeForce 310M GPU (Optimus enabled) and an inbuilt webcam. You'll also find gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, three USB 2.0 ports and a battery that's supposedly good for up to seven hours. Oh, and did we mention it includes a WiMAX model for tapping into Sprint's widening 4G network? Best Buy's US site is estimating a ship date of "one to two weeks," and you can pre-order now if you're sold already for $829.99. [Thanks, B.S.] %Gallery-106374%

  • Samsung QX and RF Series laptops roll out with Intel and NVIDIA organs

We told you it's a busy time for laptops! Following up on its recently announced SF and NF series, Samsung's unleashing two more families of lappies and we're here to tell you all about 'em. First up is the QX series, which finally brings NVIDIA's Optimus to the manufacturer's rigs. We're assuming overseas the QX will come in a variety of sizes, but here in the US the 14-inch QX410 (pictured above) will be a Best Buy exclusive and will pack a Core i5-460M CPU and a NVIDIA GeForce 310M GPU. Externally, we have to say it's one of the nicest systems we've seen lately -- the brushed metal lid adds some polish and the chiclet keys remind us a lot of those on the VAIO Z. The QX410 should be priced around $849 when it hits the double B this fall. Packing a bit more muscle are the 15.6-inch RF510 and 17.3-inch RF710, which have both Core i5 and i7 options. The RF510 boasts a NVIDIA GeForce 330M GPU and Core i5-460M processor and is slated to hit for around $899, while the RF710 with an i7-720M CPU, the same graphics, 640GB of storage and a Blu-ray drive will be priced at $1,029. Those sound mighty tempting to us. Hit the break for the full release and the galleries below for some shots. %Gallery-101066% %Gallery-101067%
