Faster than you can repeat a surname, the James Bond games have disappeared from Steam and Activision's own download store. In addition, the download versions of the games 007 Legends, Blood Stone and Quantum of Solace don't show up on Amazon, though of course the disc versions are still available there. The likely explanation would seem to be expiring rights to the 007 license, but the timing doesn't make sense on that, considering that 007 Legends was just released in October (and November on PC). We're investigating the matter, though not in the sexy, brutal James Bond method: we've just asked Activision about it.

Just in time for Papi Day (June 21), it appears that a new PS3 bundle will release June 14, which includes MLB 09 The Show and the Quantum of Solace movie on Blu-ray. Shots of the 80GB system, which will still carry the $399 price, were sent to us by a friendly Walmart insider. We've contacted Sony for official confirmation of the bundle, but it appears not to be a Walmart exclusive from initial checks. We also can't confirm that this bundle is the one previously discovered in the Best Buy system, as more detailed photos revealing the UPC don't match up. We'll update if we hear something back from Sony.[Thanks, Ray]

Just that quickly, DirecTV's come through with some of the 1080p video on demand promised earlier, debuting Quantum of Solace in both HD and 1080p today. Seven other Bond movies in the "007 Collection" are also available (in HD) until May 7: Casino Royale, Diamonds Are Forever, Die Another Day, Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldeneye and Goldfinger. The services is still claiming "the highest HD resolution format available for HD video enthusiasts" and one of the easiest to use on demand interfaces, let us know if they're getting any co-signs from the audience.

We like weeks like this when there is little doubt what the biggest title is. In fact we'd go as far as to call this the James Bond week with MGM releasing the latest addition to the franchise with the Quantum of Solace, as well as some of our favorite classics like Goldfinger and The World Is Not Enough. Also this week Universal has The Fast and the Furious Trilogy box set -- although we're not sure why we mentioned it -- while Paramount has Things We Lost in the Fire, The Kite Runner and A Mighty Heart. Next week the top Oscar winner finally hits Blu as Slumdog Millionaire hits the streets.
