Here's some of the other stuff that happened in the wide world of mobile for Friday, July 10th, 2009: Russia's RoverPC is now shipping its G7, X7, and V7 models running Windows Mobile 6.1. All three feature heavily-customized interfaces by SPB. [Via TamsPPC] If you're willing to go with a refurb, the iPhone 3G 8GB is now down to $79 even on AT&T. Russia's RoverPC unleashes the G7
We're not trying to be superficial or anything, but Russian company RoverPC's newest model, the 3G, quadband GSM, and WiFi-enabled G7 is kind of a looker -- somewhat in the vein of previous devices we've seen from the company. Spec-wise, it's carrying a 624MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM, with mini USB and microSD slots, and a 3-megapixel camera, plus it's got GPS and an accelerometer (we love those). The Windows Mobile 6.1 handset is going to be available in Russia sometime this month, for about $616. [Via Navigadget]
RoverPC's P7: Nice handset, shame about the air interface
RoverPC rolls out the next in its cleverly named line of devices as an update to the RoverPC P6, called -- yeah, you guessed it -- the RoverPC P7. While the aesthetic for this Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro device has certainly gotten a big push, and the specs are looking dandy, it seems that our friend 3G was left behind. Though all isn't lost handset lovers as it boasts a 416MHz CPU, a 2.8-inch touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD memory slot, and a pretty middling 2 megapixel camera. No word on when we might expect this to land -- though the where is looking like Russia -- or on pricing, but hopefully we'll hear more soon.
Windows Mobile 6-based RoverPC P6 on sale in Russia
It's been a tick since we saw the oh-so-snazzy RoverPC G5, and we must say, the RoverPC P6 cranks up the sexy by a few orders of magnitude. The Windows Mobile 6-based handset, which is sure to make those not in Russian mighty envious, sports a 300MHz Samsung 2442B processor, a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 resolution touchscreen, 64MB of RAM, 128MB of Flash ROM, a microSD expansion slot, Bluetooth, miniUSB, a 2-megapixel camera and a built-in media player to boot. Additionally, the phone checks in at just 15.1-millimeters thick, rocks a dark gray motif and touts tri-band GSM connectivity. So go on, pick one up for around 7990 rubles ($323) -- just don't rub it in when you do, alright?[Via MobileWhack]
