There's no category in the Guinness World Records for the most players in a single-screen multiplayer game. However, that's likely to change soon thanks to a group of New York University graduate students who created SPLAT, a multiplayer game designed for the 120-foot video wall installed in the lobby of the IAC building on the west side of Manhattan. The screen is a Prysm laser phosphor display and sports a whopping resolution of 11,520 x 1,080 pixels. The game was debuted at a packed showcase event last Friday night, along with the work of other students from an NYU Interactive Telecommunications Program class appropriately called Big Screens.

If you thought the only thing that RIFT players had to face coming at them from the sky was the odd magical invasion force, you'd be quite wrong. That's what we thought as well, until we got today's One Shots from Donny, who -- considering how many mountain-top images we get -- warns us of another potential danger adventurers might want to keep an eye out for! We'll let Donny explain: "I was heading into Stonefield in RIFT to check it out. Once there, I started climbing a mountain and just had to stop... it looked so breathtaking. So I snapped a pic and took the quick way down via falling to my death!" If you're reading Massively, we'd bet you also like playing MMOGs! Why not take a moment this weekend and send us a screenshot of your favorite game? We'd love to see what you're up to! Email your picture in to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing in the image. Your picture (and note) could be the next one we feature here! %Gallery-112285%

  • Don't get stuck in the Sunwell Plateau

I've found recently in my raiding of the Sunwell Plateau (here after and forever more referred to as SPLAT) that there are a few places folks shouldn't go.Kalecgos is one of them, that boss should just be wiped off the map. He's just that annoying. But baring that, there are these lovely little hedges placed around the instance. Don't go on those. If you do, you might just make your raid leader and Warlocks scream at you.If you get on one of these hedges and step the right way, you'll find yourself stuck behind them (click the image above for a high resolution version), unable to get out. The only way to get out is for you to hearth, for a Mage portal to be placed behind the hedge, or for a Warlock to summon you out. All the while you've taken up a good couple minutes of raid time.
