EA has been letting loose a bit with NHL 20, having recently added the likes of Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowery, Minnesota Vikings' Adam Thielen and Pittsburgh Steelers' Juju Smith-Schuster -- none of whom are pro hockey players. Another big name you might not immediately associate with the NHL has just joined the ranks: Snoop Dogg.

Infinity Ward is launching DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox platforms that will add narration to multiplayer matches by the one and only Snoop Dogg. As you terrorize the battlefield, Snoop becomes your own personal hype man, which sounds like just about the most amazing thing in the world. Want something a little gruffer? A voice pack featuring Full Metal Jacket drill instructor R. Lee Ermey is also in the works. Each DLC pack is priced at $2.99. IW is launching a number of new customization DLC packs for weaponry featured in Ghosts, as well. Continuing to show its friendliness towards all things 420, Ghosts players can purchase the puntastic Blunt Force Personalization Pack, which delivers "chronic lethality" camo, a reticle, patch, player card and background. The Blunt Force pack and other customization packages are available for $1.99. Finally, the latest set of DLC features player skins, one of which features past CoD heroes Soap and Ghost. According to the Call of Duty blog, customization DLC packages "are non-transferable and cannot be carried forward or backward" between last generation's console and the new Xbox One. All DLC will launch on April 22 for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. [Image: Activision-Blizzard]

What better way to wrap up SXSW 2014 than with a picnic with Snoop Dogg? We stepped inside Snoop's own mini-apartment, which he designed in partnership with Airbnb, to talk about his favorite gadgets. He's apparently a huge fan of the Avegant Glyph virtual-reality headset, though his temporary pad also includes essentials like a Samsung flat-screen and an Xbox One. One other must-have, which you won't see in our video tour: Snoop's special breakfast sandwich, with Texas toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese and grape jelly. (It's surprisingly good!)

Snoop Dogg's rhythm/fighting game Way of the Dogg is now available on XBLA for 800 MS Points, which is far less than the cost of changing your name and becoming a reggae artist – believe us, we looked into it. The Elite Beat Agents-esque game is also "coming soon" to PlayStation Network, iOS and Android, according to publisher 505 Games. In other Snoop Dogg related news, we recently found a horrible bootleg hip-hop mixtape that we bought nine years ago at a thrift store for like $0.48. Early reports indicate that it is still completely awesome.%Gallery-187454%

With the death of Fear & Respect, you might think you've missed your chance to play a game starring Snoop Dogg. Technically, that's true, as 505's new game Way of the Dogg stars Snoop Lion. Even though it's "Way of the Dogg." We know. The game is a rhythm-action brawler in which you match beats to Snoop Dogg's music in order to beat up enemies, with each level designed around a different Snoop track. It's built, according to Ciaran Walsh, director of developer Echo Peak, "around [Snoop's] music and love of '70s Kung Fu and Blaxploitation movies."Way of the Dogg will be out later this year on XBLA, PSN, and mobile platforms.%Gallery-180588%

  • WRUP: Fox Van Allen and Michele Morrow return to The Fourth Hour

    07.28.2012

Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" -- otherwise known as: WRUP. Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game, and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too! About a month ago, Michele Morrow and I teased you with the first episode of The Fourth Hour, what we hoped would be a really epic, regular video series on gaming. And indeed, we still have plans for it. It's just that life happened in a very severe and intense way over at the Morrow household, and we had to put off taping for a while. (More about that later.) Thankfully, though, Michele has worked through the personal cataclysm, and we finally got a chance to sit down this week to tape a new episode of The Fourth Hour. It's still in editing, but we didn't want you to go without. That's why we're going to share with you our camera test that we ran as a warm-up. And if last time's outtakes were any indication, it's going to be just as good as the full episode -- if not better. This week's bonus question: Now that the Mists of Pandaria release date has been announced, it's time to decide. Are you buying a physical copy of the game, or are you going to just grab a digital download this year?

Remember that time Snoop Dogg became a background element in Tekken Tag Tournament 2? Namco confirmed it for us today by releasing a video of the song Snoop made for his stage, called "Knocc 'em Down." Watching this video, we now truly believe this event happened, and wasn't some kind of insane mass hallucination brought on by the pressure and exhaustion of E3.Yes, "Knocc." We don't know. That's ... among the things we don't know about. Like why a fistfight breaks out over Tekken.

Players who pre-order the game will receive "early access" to the level, which features Snoop upon a massive throne, surrounded by, uhm, hip-hop females.A video for a new Tekken-themed Snoop Dogg song called "Knock 'em Down" was also debuted, wherein Snoop's Tekken Tag Tournament 2 house party was disrupted by women stripping after lost rounds, as well as choreographed kung-fu fights between Tekken-playing party goers.Update: While it may not be the music video we saw during the event, both Snoop's new song and his stage can be seen in the trailer above.

Have you been getting a kick out of Coachella's jams and arts in Indio, California? Or, did you decide to peacefully enjoy it from home via YouTube's site? Either way, you may have heard Tupac made an on-stage holographic appearance over the weekend, performing Hail Mary and 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted alongside Snoop Dogg. Tupac's hologram was made possible by AV Concepts in partnership with Dr. Dre's production company and Digital Domain, after reportedly working on the project for a few months. The outfits used a display technology dubbed "Eyeliner" that, with the help of a custom rig and a mechanical solution, was able to shoot out a life-sized, 3D illusion of Mr. Shakur onto the Coachella platform. Don't believe us? Hit 'em up at the source below, though we feel compelled to tell you language isn't exactly for all ages.

  • Music video created with iPad Brushes app

This video for the song named "Undivided" by the band Blush is intriguing. First of all, because it's a pretty solid pop song (with, as far as I can tell, a rare safe-for-work appearance by Snoop Dogg himself). Second, because the simple but beautiful animation was entirely created by animator Shawn Harris on his iPad using the Brushes app. It's very well done. You can tell that many of the parts are strictly done with finger painting, but he's also got some interesting photo editing effects, too. There's a "making of" video to watch as well that goes through some of the techniques used by Harris. Surprisingly, it was all done in the app -- he simply recorded each brushstroke as a frame of video, and used Brushes' own tools to output the final product. Good stuff! [via Gizmodo]

  • Snoop Dogggg goes 4G to celebrate launch of Samsung Galaxy Indulge, was probably paid more than 4Gs to do it

You laugh, but D-O-Quadruple-G does have a certain ring to it. In fact, it sounds a little like the ringing of Samsung's Galaxy Indulge, which is tucked inside the pocket of MetroPCS' CEO right about now. You see, the aforesaid carrier has presumably paid Snoop Dogg (or Snoop Dogggg, as he'll be known until he scurries outside of a 4G coverage area) to change his name in order to celebrate the commercial launch of the world's first LTE Android smartphone. The Froyo-based phone is just barely beating out LG's Revolution and HTC's Thunderbolt, and you can bet that MetroPCS is doing everything it can to let the world know about it. Taking things one step further too far, Snoop's also appearing in a new series dubbed "The G-Connection," and you can peek the first episode just after the brizzle. For rizzle, homedizzle. %Gallery-117476%

  • Symantec mobilizes Snoop Dogg's cybercrime unit

You know what? Snoop has really done more than any technology company has to bring products to new audiences. Back in fifth grade we had no idea what indo was or why anyone would ever want to combine gin and juice; 3 weeks after "Doggystyle" came out we were hooked on both. At the beginning of last year we couldn't fathom our Grandpas asking Snoop for directions in the Caddy...but it happened. So why not make the leap to, you know, hawking desktop and internet security to urban markets? Symantec's Hack is Wack campaign aims to "bring the attention level up...just try to make people aware that these [cyber] crimes are happening." Snoop invites you to "raise awareness by making a rap song about cyber crimes" and uploading a video for judgment on "originality, creativity and message." The winner gets a pair of tickets to see Snoop, a chance to meet his "mgmt/agent" and a Toshiba laptop. It's been a while since we hit the mic or had any antivirus software installed, but he's got us thinking pretty hard about throwing down some rhymes and our credit cards for a copy of Norton 360 v4.0.

  • Rumor: Snoop Dogg tracks coming to Rock Band Sept. 7 [update]

Rock Band Aide, the premier fan site for Harmonix's soon-to-be-expanded rhythm game, reportedly uncovered a thrilling pop-up advertisement while watching MTV sister station Palladia -- one which revealed a September 7 release date for the eight-song Snoop Dogg track pack announced for Rock Band a year and a half ago. A year and a half! Why, that was long before the December release of Mr. Dogg's chart-topping "Malice N Wonderland." How the times have changed! We certainly hope the advertisement turns out to be accurate, as we're starting to feel a little impatient for the playable raps of the Doggfather. Then again, when the tracks were first announced, Snoop Dogg was still legally banned from entering the UK, a decision which was only overturned this past March. We would have felt terrible if this Dogg embargo had somehow kept our overseas friends from getting their hands on the tracks. Update: The latest Major Nelson schedule update has confirmed that the eight-song Snoop Dogg pack will indeed arrive on XBLA on September 7. We'll let you know the second we find out what songs will be included. [Thanks, Dirtybeefz!]

With so much content in Rock Band D-L-C, it's kinda hard finding Snoop D-O-double-G. But according to a release from MTV, that's about to become a lot easier as the Doggfather brings his trademark flow to MTV's music game (alongside a few other ventures with the music giant). We love Snoop Dogg's music as much as the three-time winners of the "Least Urban Blogging Team" award can, but is this really a good fit for Rock Band? Do you commenters have any suggestions for Snoop tracks that you'd want to rock to? And will you be singing the censored on-screen version or spitting the original, raunchy fire? [Via Giant Bomb]

Metaverse developer Millions of Us intends to market likenesses, hair-styles, catchphrases, dance moves, signature moves, clothing lines, furniture collections -- you name it -- based on well-known celebs all under the banner business name of Virtual Greats. These appearances and digital accessories would be sold in dozens of virtual worlds, though you'll probably see them in Gaia Online, Habbo and Second Life first. Deals have already been done with Justin Timberlake, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Raven Symone, Marvel (for The Incredible Hulk), and Tila Tequila, and more are in the works.

  • Snoop Dogg chooses video games over charity event

When west coast rapper Snoop Dogg told us that it ain't no fun if the homies can't have none, we never imagined that he was referring to gaming consoles, but apparently the talented MC and occasional criminal defendent refused to perform at a recent UNICEF charity event if they would not provide his posse and himself an Xbox to play with. According to AHN, someone at the event eventually snatched their kid's Xbox (we assume a 360) to placate Snoop, but the troubles didn't stop there, as he apparantely got so caught up in the game that he was an hour late appearing on stage -- this despite a reported $150,000 paycheck for the appearance. While we can't be certain, we suspect this may all be the result of the charity's refusal to pay Snoop in achievement points.[Via The Raw Feed]

  • Snoop wants his Xbox and he wants it now!

    by
    Dustin Burg

    04.20.2007

The New York Post is reporting that Snoop Dogg, during a UNICEF benefit concert, almost didn't make it on stage due to an Xbox. As part of Snoop Dogg's long list of demands for his appearance, he required that there be an Xbox in his dressing room. But when no Xbox was to be found, Snoop nearly canceled his concert. That is until a parent lent the rapper their kid's Xbox so he could get his game on with his massive entourage. In the end Snoop was only an hour or so late (gaming way too hard), but did give his performance. Is our pot smoking "friend" Snoop Dogg a diva in disguise or is it perfectly justifiable for a gamer to demand an Xbox? We can definitely understand the necessity of it, but then again we aren't getting paid $150,000 to show up somewhere.
