Namco Bandai's new free-to-play, single-player tale of souls/swords SoulCalibur: Lost Swords is expected to launch on the PlayStation Network sometime this winter, the company announced at a private pre-TGS event earlier this week. The game also marks classic Athenian warrior Sophitia's return to the stage of history, after being killed off between SoulCaliburs 4 and 5. So far, Mitsurugi and Siegfried are the only other confirmed characters, but we figure that won't be the case for long. Producer Masaaki Hoshino could not speak to how exactly the game will be monetized, though he was able to clarify that Lost Swords runs on "the next iteration" of the SoulCalibur 5 engine. "The game system itself is quite different, it's been more streamlined and simplified so that people can more easily perform flashy, over-the-top maneuvers," Hoshino told us through a translator.

German site Gamefront showed off some new screenshots for the action-adventure take on the Soul Calibur franchise recently. The new screens show off busty pirate lass Ivy, as well as a little more from Siegfried and Sophitia, all of whom have been confirmed as playable characters. It still seems as though the screenshots (which we've added to the gallery below) are improving all the time, and this pleases us, but we'd like to see some of the other characters who will be featured. Specifically, this blogger feels a need to take tiny Talim up against giant Egyptian-styled enemies. You know how it is with dynamite and small packages.%Gallery-3272%

  • Soul Calibur IV keeps laying on the sexuality

Soul Calibur IV's bountiful breasts bounce along as Namco Bandai recently released more images of characters in the game. The first outing for the Soul Calibur crew on current-gen consoles is becoming better known for its breasts than anything else following a first-look at Ivy and her string-top battle bra in early June. Now we have Sophitia (above) in her almost see-through Jennifer Lopez-inspired double-sided-tape-required battle gear. Her sister Cassandra can be found in the gallery below with her breasts packed in nicely with a hole to breath through and show cleavage. Seriously, these women are fighting with blades in these outfits. How is this sane? Also, after the break, we have a borderline NSFW image of Voldo. Now, granted, Voldo has always been overtly sub-pornographic with a BDSM vibe; however, the place where he has a spike coming out of now may be a bit over-the-top. If you don't instantly imagine it, just try to conceptualize how Voldo would sit down in that outfit.%Gallery-6043%
