Elgato's Stream Deck XL has 32 customizable keys
Elgato's Stream Deck systems offer streamers quick access to a variety of actions and macros, such as to start and end streams, tweak lighting and audio levels, switch between profiles, control music or perform multiple actions at the same time. Less than a year after releasing a smaller version of the Stream Deck, Elgato's going in the other direction with Stream Deck XL, while it has also released an iOS app.
Elgato introduces a $100 mini version of its livestream controller
Elgato introduced its $150 Stream Deck Live last year, which gives streamers quick access to customized broadcasting shortcuts. A month after the company was acquired by peripheral and computer parts manufacturer Corsair, it's released a mini version of its programmable dashboard that's available to buy today for $100.
Corsair buys Elgato's gaming business to get into livestreaming
Live game streaming is a big business, and Corsair wants in. The PC peripheral maker has reached a deal to acquire Elgato Gaming, the team behind Elgato's capture cards, Stream Deck and green screen -- three of the most helpful tools for broadcasters on services like Twitch, Mixer and YouTube. Elgato's smart home business will carry on by itself under the Eve Systems badge.
Elgato's control pad is a livestreaming sidekick
The rise of livestreaming has opened the floodgates of casual broadcasting, turning many computer desks into makeshift studios. Peripherals have started catering to this market, like 360-degree cameras. In this niche, Elgato has released the Stream Deck, a standalone mini-keyboard with 15 extra buttons for streamers to program in shortcuts to programs or features.
