Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Capcom's fairly massive Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collection have been temporarily discounted over at Capcom's official shop, meaning that either version of the 15 disc box set can be had for the princely sum of $100. While both bundles include a metric ton of physical goodies, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition and Street Fighter X Tekken, the PS3 SKU also includes codes to download all three Street Fighter Alpha games on PSN, in addition to other digital bonuses. So, if you're part of the subset of people who own both consoles and are eager to dump a solid Benjamin on a stack of Street Fighter tapes, the PlayStation 3 version will have more bang for your buck. Also, can we borrow some money?

Your stubborn reluctance to purchase any of Capcom's digital releases is about to pay off. The publisher is collecting eight of its XBLA games for a $40 disc dubbed "Capcom Digital Collection," out next spring. It's exclusive to Xbox 360. The set includes 1942: Joint Strike, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (not 1 ...), the two-game Final Fight: Double Impact, Flock!, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil with "It Came from Uranus" DLC, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. That's an overwhelming windfall of games to receive at once -- and it would be $100 if you bought it all digitally. If you want more than a couple of these games (and especially if you're light on hard drive space), it's a pretty appealing deal.%Gallery-141794%

Before the Super Turbo Hyper BBQ HD Ultra Mega Remixes there was just plain ol' Street Fighter 2, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this month. Capcom posted a birthday reminder for its classic fighter, which was born two decades ago in the arcades (remember those?). Since 1991, Street Fighter 2 has seen six arcade iterations and near countless ports across consoles, PCs and handhelds (Tiger even!). Chances are you've played the game a time or two ... and had your pixelated butt unceremoniously handed to you.

Major Nelson has dropped a new Xbox Live Marketplace schedule for the remainder of March and beginning of April and, while we knew about most of the major releases already, there's still some surprises to be found. First, the next two weeks will see some nice Deal of the Week promotions, with Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram falling to 800 ($10) and Geometry Wars 2 dropping to a paltry 400 ($5). Beyond that, Xbox Live Silver members will also be able to enjoy free Xbox Live Gold -- including online multiplayer, Netflix, last.fm, Facebook and Twitter -- from noon ET on April 1 through noon ET on April 5. And, as if all that wasn't enough, Major announced that ten Xbox Live Arcade games will go on sale from April 1 through April 7. The full list of games hasn't been announced, though it will include Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, South Park and Defense Grid. Check out the full Xbox Live schedule after the break.

Super Street Fighter II HD Remix, according to associate product manager John Diamonon, has sold in excess of 250,000 copies and is "on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title ever." Diamonon states that the game has already broken both day one and week one records -- the game debuted November 25 and 26 on PSN and XBLA, respectively -- and he adds that the game is likely to best the 30 day record as well. Diamonon proceeds to thank everyone involved, stating that the game was "a labor of love for everyone involved" and then thanks the fans themselves for keeping the title "relevant" for well over a decade. There's a lesson here, kids. Nostalgia sells, but high definition nostalgia really sells.

PS3 fans haven't heard any news in regards to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix in a long, long time. Xbox 360 owners had a chance to participate in the beta, but it was plagued with problems that were never fixed, if that makes you feel any better. The lack of news has lead some to conclude the game has been delayed; but fear not, in an interview with The Street Fighter Blog, associate producer Rey Jimenez reveals the game is on track for a 2008 release. "We're on track to release the game this year and barring any unforeseen catastrophic event, that should not be changing." He also told SF fans to expect an announcement of the exact release date shortly.Other elements covered in the interview range from the possibility extra characters via DLC (not happening) to whether the fighters will have their original colors selectable (yes, they will be). • Super Street Fighter II HD beta impressions

Joystiq has posted their impressions of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta. You may have heard that the beta has some rather serious issues, and Josytiq's experience has been no different (for what it's worth, we haven't experienced any problems just playing 1-on-1 quick matches). That said, once the game actually does work, it's a lot of fun. Make no mistake, this is just Super Street Fighter II with a new coat of pixels, but there isn't really anything wrong with that. One thing that needs to be made clear is that the game plays much better than Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, the iteration of the series that's already availble on XBLA. The lag found in Hyper Fighting seems to have been alleviated this time around (so far, we've only experienced lag one time). We just hope you have a better control option than the standard 360 controller.Head over to Joystiq for their full impressions of the beta.
