This week there will be a number of 9/11 retrospectives, as we remember the day of the attack on its 15th anniversary. CNN and the History Channel will air specials Sunday night, while the NFL Network will focus on the day during the season premiere of The Timeline. All of that will occur as the NFL season begins this week, with a matchup between the Broncos and Panthers Thursday night. This week The Iron Giant Ultimate Collection arrives on Blu-ray, while gamers can dig into XCOM 2 on PS4 and Xbox One. On TV, we're looking at FX where it will premiere two highly-anticipated series from Donald Glover and Pamela Adlon. Glover's Atlanta debuts Tuesday while Adlon's Better Things arrives Thursday night. Meanwhile, on Crackle you can check out the full first season of its new series Startup. Finally, for devoted Karate Kid fans, Sony is releasing the second third movies individually as part of its manufacturing-on-demand Blu-ray series. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

Last September, the animated classic The Iron Giant returned to US theaters as a "Signature Edition" with high definition visuals and two additional scenes. Warner Bros. has now confirmed a Blu-ray release for this fall, as well as an "Ultimate Collectors Edition" that includes a few extra goodies. For $74.99, you'll get the "Signature" cut and the original theatrical release, both in high and standard definition. There's also a documentary on the disc called The Giants Dream, which gives a "definitive" look at how the 1999 classic was put together.

If you're still reeling from the disappointment of Tomorrowland, you'll be able to rekindle your faith in director Brad Bird this September when his debut feature returns to cinemas. The Iron Giant: Signature Edition will play in select theaters on September 30 in partnership with Fathom Events, Warner Bros announced yesterday. And if you can't make that, there'll be an encore showing on October 4. The film centers on a boy who befriends a giant robot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and has to protect him from government agents -- you know, typical kid stuff. WB is finally giving the film a full high-definition restoration for the rerelease, which will also be available for purchase from digital retailers at some point. We just hope this means there will be an Iron Giant Blu-ray eventually. Bird has been fighting for a feature-packed Blu-ray release, but he says WB is has been pushing for a bare bones disc (that is, one with just the film).
