We all need to reserve judgment until we actually have one in our hands, but we have to admit -- the Samsung Glyde for Verizon sure seems to get more beautiful every time we get new shots of it. These particular shots, of course, are designed to be especially beautiful since they're stock photos to be used for press and promotion. Are you really here to hear us blab about 'em, though? Heck no, you aren't! Go ahead, get a little clicky down below for the full gallery.%Gallery-18720%

  • Verizon's Samsung Glyde gets even clearer

We're thanking our lucky stars MobiTV didn't manage to shut down HowardForums on this particular day. Why? The best shots yet of Samsung's imminent U940 Glyde for Verizon have emerged over there, and we think a boatload of viewers are going to like what they see. The touchy, feely interface is pretty much what we'd expected to find, but perhaps most importantly, the visuals confirm that the U940 will in fact sport a true HTML browser, putting to rest fears brought about originally by some poor verbiage in the Glyde's draft manual provided to the FCC suggesting that it'd do no better than WAP. Who's getting excited about this one? Any jaded Voyager owners out there looking to sidegrade?[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • Verizon wisely renames the Samsung U940 to "Glyde"

We're delighted to report that the Q-Ball name didn't stick around very long for the upcoming Samsung U940 on Verizon; it's now the far more reasonable-sounding "Glyde" (truth be told, it was probably an internal codename all along, but we're issuing a hearty "whew!" nonetheless). The high-end QWERTY handset is currently targeted for late March; we all know how internal launch dates go, but we're trying to stay positive with this one. On a somewhat unrelated note, it turns out that the Motorola Q9c -- a more buttoned-up form of the Q9m, currently available on Sprint -- is still in Verizon's sights, though at this point, the darned thing is running the risk of launching itself right into irrelevancy.[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

  • FCC coughs up some more docs for Verizon's Samsung U940

Is there any lingering doubt at this point that Samsung's delicious F700 is coming to Verizon as the U940? No? We suspected as much, but here's the final nail in the coffin: the bugger's FCC documentation is now officially off lockdown. Nothing really to write home about in the somewhat sparse draft version of the user's manual, but we were amused at someone's halfhearted attempt to black out the Verizon logo on the phone's external photos -- only to be foiled by its repeated mention in the manual itself.[Via phoneArena]

Getting amped for that snow white Touch, are we? Well, good news: it'll be here pretty quickly, with Verizon's latest estimate putting it on shelves in the late February / early March time frame. That'll be followed up pretty quickly by the Samsung U940, a lovely high-end QWERTY phone in the vein of the F700; we'd previously heard Q1 for this one, and Verizon's pushing Q1 to the extreme here by tagging it for a March release. The Motorola W755 has been dubbed the "COOL" -- though we're not sure whether that's a go-to-market term or just a codename -- and it'll be here at some point in the spring. Finally, we've caught wind that Big Red's prepping a Moto V750, dubbed "UTOPIA," which we don't know much about but may be a spiritual successor to the V710. Whatever the heck it is, look for it in late spring.[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

  • LG VX9100, Samsung U940 "Q-Ball" (huh?) on track for Verizon this quarter

And now for a little gem from our "let us all pray it's merely a codename" department: it appears Verizon is tossing around the name "Q-Ball" in reference to the Samsung U940, the CDMA-ified version of the lovely F700. Of course, they could call it "Flaming Bag of Dog Poo" for all we care -- it's still going to be a hot handset that'll likely find a loyal following, and we're happy to report that the carrier's currently targeting the first quarter to get this puppy into subscribers' hands. The same can be said for the LG VX9100, a phone we just caught wind of earlier today via the FCC's loose lips (see the Read link for details), though we really can't make much of it other than that it'll wow us all with EV-DO and Bluetooth. Stay tuned![Thanks, anonymous tipster]

Nice to see Samsung's sliding gem get a little more real courtesy of the fine peeps at Phonearena. We first saw this guy back in March of this year at CeBIT and have been loving it ever since, cause, what's not to love, right? QWERTY goodness, giant touch screen, and we'll be able to get it over here, not just in GSM-land or on Vodafone. No word on dates yet -- as this is apparently an early prototype of the final device -- but this sort of in the flesh thing seriously makes out hearts sing. Go Verizon!
