July's Artist of the Month Velvet Revolver will be partaking in the Game with Fame festivities this Friday by playing some Gears of War. This Friday, July 27th from 10:00PM - Midnight eastern the Velvet Revolver rockers will be online playing Gears, so we advise sending a friend request to "GWFVelvet" for your chance to play with the band. Once your friend request is sent, sit back, wait for a chance to play and ponder how you'll be finishing off the band. We already know how we're taking out Slash as our chainsaw is already greased and ready to rip.

A new trailer for Guitar Hero III has dropped from the heavens of rock, and lo and behold, the game officially features legendary guitarist, Slash. Made famous by Guns N' Roses and now rocking with Velvet Revolver, Slash will be featured in the upcoming game, which is now subtitled Legends of Rock. Naturally, this leads us to believe there may be a few other famous rockers in the game as well, though this is only speculation at this point. Check out the latest trailer after the break.

In celebration of their latest album release Libertad, rockers Velvet Revolver have been honored with the title of July's Artist of the Month. Head onto the XBLM to download the making of video of their music video "She Builds Quick Machines", but not actually the music video. Odd, we know. If Velvet Revolver doesn't excite you check out Ryan Adams' very "unique" music video for "I Taught Myself How to Grow Old". Both downloads are free, so download at your own musical risk.
