    Walgreens has agreed to pay $44 million to settle a class action lawsuit brought by customers who received flawed Theranos blood tests through its centers in Arizona and California.

    DoorDash now delivers 'everyday essentials' from Walgreens

    DoorDash is expanding its on-demand delivery portfolio once again. The service announced today that it would begin offering deliveries of “everyday essentials” from retail pharmacy chain Walgreens. DoorDash says customers in select cities will be able to choose from over 2,000 “convenience, health, and wellness essentials” that include “beauty products, over-the-counter medications and grocery and snack foods.”

    Late last month, Walgreen expanded its partnership with Postmates to deliver over-the-counter medications, household essentials and other convenience products in the US. Today, Postmates is taking that one step further. It’s adding two new categories to the app, Essentials and Convenience, through which you can order items from Walgreens (or Duane Reade) and 7-Eleven, respectively.

    This fall, Alphabet's drone delivery arm Wing will begin delivering goods for FedEx Express, Walgreens and a small retailer. The pilot program will be based in Christiansburg, Virginia, and it's meant to prove that Wing's drones are ready to deliver health care products, fill last-mile delivery needs and give local retailers a boost.

    Microsoft and Walgreens announced today that they will be teaming up to help improve health care. The companies have entered into a seven-year agreement during which Walgreens plans to migrate most of its IT infrastructure over to Microsoft's Azure cloud services. Microsoft is also providing Microsoft 365, a package of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office, to the 380,000 employees working at Walgreens stores around the world.

The pair were appointed to ensure Tesla complies with a Securities and Exchange Commission settlement following allegations CEO Elon Musk misled investors over a plan to take the company private.

    Walgreens and FedEx announced today a partnership that will provide next-day prescription drug deliveries from Walgreens pharmacies. The service will be available nationwide for Walgreens customers and will cost $4.99 per drop off. Walgreens said some markets will have an option for same-day delivery, and the company plans to expand that service next year.

    If your options for a new phone are limited by your budget, transportation options or not wanting to sign a contract, an expanded partnership between Sprint and Walgreens could help you out. The pair recently announced that by year's end, between the Chicago and Dallas-Ft. Worth metro areas the there will be some 80 new Sprint Express locations at the corner-store chain. The two promise further details will be announced within the next few months.

    The Food And Drug Administration may force several e-cigarette brands to stop selling flavored products if they can't prove they can keep their products out of minors' hands. The brands -- Juul, Vuse, MarkTen, blu and Logic -- have 60 days to convince the agency they have adequate plans to stop kids from vaping with their products. Those five collectively account for more than 97 percent of the e-cigarette market.

    Google has supported Rich Communication Services (RCS) for a while now, hoping to bring features like group chat, high-res photo sharing and read receipts to all Android users. The company made a big push to expand RCS support on Android last year, and carriers have been slowly adopting the standard and preloading Android Messages to the standard app load out. Now, Google says that it's convinced 43 carriers and device makers to add native support for the messaging protocol.

    Theranos settles Walgreens lawsuit with 'no finding of liability'

    Theranos, the lab testing and equipment company, has had a bad couple of years. The company has been accused of all sorts of wrongdoing, including fake test results and false claims of "innovative" laboratory equipment. Last November, drugstore Walgreens sued the beleaguered corporation for a reported $140 million, the details of which were sealed behind several non-disclosure agreements. Today, however, Theranos has announced a "confidential settlement agreement" with Walgreens that apparently "resolves all claims among those parties."

    Walgreens is taking Theranos to court for $140 million, according to Wall Street Journal investigative reporter John Carreyrou and a motion filed today in Delaware district court. The details of the case are secret, as the companies both signed non-disclosure agreements that could be violated if Walgreens' actual complaint were made public.

    Despite Android Pay's promise of simplicity, getting loyalty points is still a small hassle -- you either have to carry the store's card or have the cashier scan it from your phone. Walgreens has revealed that it's the first retailer to integrate rewards points directly with Google's payment system. All you need to do is place your phone near the payment terminal to scan in your card, then tap it again to actually pay. "Walgreens customers can speed through the entire checkout process in as few as two taps with their Android phones," says Google Senior Director Pali Bhat.
