If you're the type of gamer who digs alternative input devices, you might have a gander at the Wolfking Warrior gamepad (sister site Massively has a review) and the Trooper gaming mouse (besides, any gadget named after an Iron Maiden song is worth a head turn). Both units have gotten an update in the new MVP series, with the Warrior USB 2.0 55-key circular gamepad receiving a style update in the form of deep black audio keys to match its matte black finish. The Trooper delivers a frame rate in excess of 7080 frames per second, up to 45ips and 20g high speed motion detection, 2400 dpi resolution, onboard LED displays and a Rapid Fire Switch function button that lets you select your rate of fire from 1 to 4 shots per click. The MVP Series versions will be coming in at $34.99 for the Warrior and $59.99 for the Trooper.

For those of you deeper into the gaming scene, no doubt you have put down some cold, hard cash every now and then for a gaming peripheral. A steering wheel to make you better at racing games, a customizable keyboard to boost your kill:death ratio, or maybe a weighted mouse to give you that better feel. That's exactly what this WolfKing Warrior is.Just looking at it straight out of the box, one is likely to assume "Oh, I can just replace my normal keyboard with this!". I assure you, this is not the case. The layout is not tailored at all for typing, and it is also missing a few keys (the most glaring of which is the enter key). This isn't really a downside, though, as it is very much marketed towards a gaming environment and can also be used in conjunction with a normal keyboard.

Are you ready for a blast of the obvious? If so, head on down to the read link and take a look at Extreme Tech's review of the Warrior Xxtreme. Wolfking's latest gamepad is obviously aiming at a smallish niche, and while it proved to be quite the device to have while gaming, it's not exactly the easiest thing to pound out a dissertation on. 'Course, we sincerely hope you didn't expect anything other than precisely those results, and it should be noted that Wolfking did a swell job of catering to righties and southpaws alike. Overall, we've serious doubts that touch-typists will be keen on swapping out their ergonomic split 'board for this thing, but hunt-and-peckers that spend the majority of their time in WoW raids may find lots to love.

Shortly after making a splash at the FCC and getting an official name, Wolfking's Warrior Xxtreme is finally available to anyone who thinks their fingers are up to the challenge of conquering this beast. Hailed as the "world's first 2-in-1 PC gamepad and keyboard," this unit is supposedly geared towards MMO players and features a "Blue Moon" backlight for playing after hours, a pair of USB 1.1 ports, built-in volume control and support for both Macs and PCs. Interestingly, the device will be sold exclusively through Dell (at least through the holiday season), and while the press release claims that you can pick one up now for $79.99, it appears that it hasn't been added to the firm's website just yet.

  • Wolfking's latest gets a suitable name: Warrior Xxtreme

Merely days after we caught Wolfking's astonishingly bizarre gaming keyboard lurking in the FCC's database, it seems that the firm is giving the pup a proper (and we mean proper) name. Just as Elmo would attest, things just seem a little more hardcore with any variant of "extreme" in the title, and the Warrior Xxtreme goes the xxtra mile by doubling up on the x's and kicking the e to the curb. The self-proclaimed "hybrid two-in-one PC gamepad / keyboard" supposedly combines the utility of a full-fledged keyboard with the "ergonomics and space saving design of a gamepad." No matter how you slice it, this thing certainly won't please everyone, but hopefully we'll have a price to pass along in the not-too-distant future for those already gearing up for battle.

  • Crazy new Wolf King gaming keyboard hits the FCC

It looks like those that prefer their keyboards as unconventional as possible could soon have a new option to consider from Wolf King, which has just seen its latest less-than-ergonomic wonder pass through the FCC. From the looks of it, this one boasts a good deal of similarities to the Wolf Claw keyboard we saw a while back, minus the full-size QWERTY keyboard. That gets replaced by a jumble of keys that could probably be used to actually type something in a pinch, although we're guessing you'll want to have another keyboard as a backup. According to the manual, you can also expect a pair of extra USB ports, seven customizable hotkeys and, of course, some blue backlighting to really make it stand out on your desk. No word on a price or release but, as you can see above, it sure looks about ready to roll out the door.
