There's always time to step away from the potentially needless slaughter that punctuates most MMOs and go relax in a more neutral setting. Even if the game in question is the PvP-heavy Fantasy Earth Zero, there's plenty of opportunity to take a bit of time away from combat. That's why the game has just launched the new Galm Amusement Park, complete with plenty of opportunities for players to partake in a new minigame, Dream Gacha. Located on the same island as the La Velza Colosseum, the amusement park allows players a chance to take a look inside the dreams of the five national leaders and see what's on their minds. A full guide to locating, playing, and winning the minigame is available at the official site. There are also a number of additional events taking place at the new park, including a free coin giveaway running until the 16th. Fantasy Earth Zero players would be well-advised to take a moment away from the game's battlefields for a bit of relaxation in the new park -- after all, the continent will still be around for you to conquer tomorrow.

The simple truth is that we don't care why French magazine Amusement shot small electronic devices through a wall. Oh sure, there are reasons supplied. Specifically, the gallery in question is entitled "Overheating" and depicts several objects being hurled through a wall out of frustration -- including a DS Lite. Yet, once again again, the why really doesn't matter. The end result -- a flying, frozen mass of wood, sheet rock and plastic -- just looks cool. And anyway, it's not like all of us haven't felt like hurling a console through the wall every now and then. Now we just have a handy visual reference. [Via GameSetWatch. All images: Romain Laurent]

Show full PR text As you know, there's one thing we love more than gadgets -- wanton destruction. Combine the two (on someone else's dime, o'course) and we're having a pretty good day. That said, we're glad that there are others out there with our bent, including Amusement, a "gaming lifestyle" mag based en France. Apparently, the theme of the current issue is "computer bugs," with a number of articles illustrated in a clever, artistic, Gallic manner. But that's not what caught our eye -- no, we were into the pictures of handheld game consoles (specifically, a Nintendo DS and a PSP Go) being shot through particle board. Feel free to peep some more action photography after the break -- and we'll just go back to working on our coilgun.

There's nothing like wolfing down a delectable funnel cake, only to then strap yourself into a steel-framed contraption that lays down 2 Gs on your already-queasy stomach. Germany's KUKA Robotics is teaming up with Canada's own Primal Rides to unveil a new "fully interactive amusement ride" using the KUKA KR 500 robot as the "building block" of it all. The machine boasts a six-axis (not that SIXAXIS) robot with a 131-inch reach and capable of handling just over half a ton, all while throwing 2 Gs worth of force and countless smiles (or frowns, depending on the situation) on its riders. Apparently, the ride will hoist riders into a gunfight, where the intensity, speed, and variety of targets will increase as their scores skyrocket; additionally, KUKA claims that parks can "quickly and cost effectively change the theme and severity of the ride" by swapping out peripheral effects and robot programming sans the need for costly new nuts and bolts. While it's still unclear which theme parks have signed on for this robot-based thrill ride, we're sure EMMA, HOSPI, RI-MAN, and Quasi will be first in line to give it a whirl.[Via Robbit Gossip]
