Every June, Nyko outs all sorts of gaming peripherals at E3, and this year is no different. It's latest is the ambidextrous Free Fighter arcade-style joystick for PS3 that can be set up for either left- or right-handed gamers. It can be further customized to suit button-mashers of all styles with two variable-speed turbo keys and four programmable macros to let you perform complex combos with a single press. Plus, every button's backlit, and the whole thing comes with a detachable, expandable base to keep it from sliding around in your lap while you're hurling hadoukens and slinging sonic booms. It'll hit store shelves in September with $180 price tag, but if you can't wait until then, check the gallery of press pics below and stay tuned for our hands-on from the E3 show floor.%Gallery-157090%

While it may not be the best option for a game of Resistance, if you want to be prepared for one of the few fighting games that'll be making its way to the PS3 in the coming months, you might want to give one of these offerings from accessory-maker Hori some serious consideration. The Fighting Stick 3 is the less expensive of the two, running a reasonable 5,229 Yen ($45) and sporting a button layout that'll be familiar to anyone that's set foot in an arcade in the last fifteen years, as well as a rapid fire feature for those that need a little help. Taking things up a notch, the $70 Real Arcade Pro 3 will give you the same layout and features, but in a more arcade-authentic package. Both sticks will be available in Japan February 8th, just in time for the downloadable version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.

Ludwig over at Joystiq passed this little gem onto us today. Looks like the 360 will be getting an arcade stick after all, courtesy of Mad Catz. While it's obvious that the stick should be perfect for old school favorites like Galaga, certain elements are rather curious. First of all, the controller has both a joystick and a D-pad, suggesting that the stick is in fact analogue. Also, the triggers and shoulder buttons don't appear to be on the face of the controller at all. As such, hopeful Street Fighter purists may still be left without a suitable control. The original item on EB Games has since been yanked from the internet, but we managed to snag a shot of the page, which lists the controller for $69.99 (ouch) with a release date of October 1st. That's a pretty hefty price for a decent game of Pac-Man.
