Remember Asta: The War of Tears and Winds? MMO Culture does, and the fan site has posted a handful of gameplay videos from the fantasy title's Korean open beta. Asta is powered by CryEngine 3, and MMO Culture refers to it as a "traditional point-and-click MMORPG" as well as "the Asian World of Warcraft." The open beta just started yesterday, so be sure and click past the cut for a look at all the early footage.

The Asian-themed Asta: The War of Tears and Winds is currently in its first round of closed beta testing, and Steparu has posted a review of the upcoming title along with a number of gameplay videos. Although there are a number of playable races and classes to choose from, some classes can only be played by certain races, which start in their own specific areas. The game features the standard tab-targeting combat, with either point and click or WASD movement commands. For leveling, Asta offers a variety of quests, from collecting to killing to running errands; it even boasts open live event quests with multiple phases. Check out the landscapes and underwater aspects of questing around a port town in the clip after the cut. Then, for even more videos on the open world events and character creation for various races, head on over to Steparu.com.

Character creation. For some players, it's the boring part of the game that you have to click through quickly in order to get on with the hitting. For others, it's half of the reason you're playing the game at all. If you're of the former camp, you're probably not going to get much out of this series of high-definition videos detailing character creation for all the races in Asta: The War of Tears and Wind. But if you're in the latter camp, you've got some viewing ahead of you. All six races from the game have character creation extensively displayed, including both genders for the dimorphic races getting separate treatment. Each of the races also has some unique features, ranging from the horns of the Dragon race to the tusks of the Oni race to the spine apparently constructed from flexible tubing of the Fox race. (Or maybe the female model is just posed oddly.) While there's no word yet on release, you can still look longingly at all of the videos and start thinking about what you'd want to play if and when the game comes overseas.
