There are plenty of 7-inch portable DVD players on the market. However, there are few with 10-inch displays and even fewer with an integrated digital tuner for mobile TV. So if either of these matter to you (and chances are, they don't unless you live in Japan or Korea) check Axion's AXN5109TN with Japanese 1Seg tuner. It packs an 800x480 pixel resolution into the panel and supports standard DVD and music CD playback as well as DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs laden with all the MP3s, MPEG-4s, and JPEGs you can muster. The battery only manages a weak-sauce, 2.5-hours of continual playback and the whole kit weighs in at 170-grams / 0.37-pounds and 1.7-inches thick. An external analog tuner (pictured) is also available for capturing legacy terrestrial broadcasts if you must. Watch for it in Japan where it hits December 20th for about ¥38,000 or right around $322. [Via Impress]

Apparently there's a gaping hole in the handheld GPS market, as it seems a new manufacturer takes its first dive every other week or so, and this time it's none other than Axion. Diverting its efforts away from those portable DVD players and iPTV gizmos, the firm is unveiling a budget-conscious GPS that pulls double duty as a pedestrian guide when not relaxing on your dash. Boasting a familiar 3.5-inch touchscreen, pre-loaded maps of the US and Canada on its built-in SD card, turn-by-turn guidance, automatic rerouting, and "2D / 3D night maps," the GEO-632 matched up fairly well with other entry-level offerings already on the market. It also functions as an MP3 player and JPEG viewer when you're not circling the block, and comes bundled with an in-car mounting system to boot. While the device may not floor anyone in the features department, it can get you where you want to go for just $259.99, which is quite a bit less than the alternatives are demanding for their navigational intelligence.[Via MobileWhack]

It wouldn't be a mobile media product if it didn't start with a lower-case i (but then again if it's got wired Ethernet, it's not incredibly mobile anyway). Still, it looks like Axion's iPTV Anywhere Box and Wireless Monitor seeks to emulate the Sony LocationFree TV model streaming TV to your 7-inch wireless (or wired) Monitor, which also happens to have a USB port and SD, just in case. Yeah, more info as it's available.

When you've got two kids screaming and kicking in the back seat of the car trying to share a single portable DVD player, you might as well not have one at all. Enter Axion's new AXN-6079 dual 7-inch screen portable DVD player, capable of accepting a video-in for in-car gameplay, or good for just splitting the screen two ways for your little brats darlings who haven't yet learned to play nice and share. We're pretty sure, however, these things aren't wireless, so if you're cable-phobic, be forewarned before plunking down your $230 when they're available at some point this month.
