Innkeeper's Invitational announced for BlizzCon
For many BlizzCon attendees, one of the big draws is the chance to see some of the top players from Blizzard's franchises square off in matches and tournaments. We've come to expect competitions in WoW PvP and Starcraft in particular, and this year there will be another game added to the mix: Hearthstone. Blizzard has invited eight of the most dedicated Hearthstone players to compete live in a small tournament at BlizzCon this year called the Innkeeper's Invitational. Each player will bring three decks -- they must all be different classes -- and compete against each other in a series of matches. If your deck loses, it's out for good, and that player has to select a different deck. Once all three decks have been eliminated, that player is out of the competition and resigned to watching from the sidelines. If you're interested in seeing how hardcore card game players go about their games, this is a great opportunity to do so! And it might give us all some ideas for how to modify our own Hearthstone decks in the future. If you won't be attending BlizzCon you can tune in using a Virtual Ticket or check out the matches on the World of Warcraft Twitch channel.
BlizzCon Tickets on sale today at 10am PDT
The last opportunity to purchase tickets for Blizzcon 2013 comes knocking at 10am PDT today. (That's three hours from the time this is published.) The last set, which went on sale at 7pm PDT on Wednesday, sold out at remarkable speed, just as you'd expect for a conference of the huge status and minimal size of BlizzCon. Do check out WoW Insider's tips to getting yourself ready for the ticket push, and most importantly, don't assume that you can wait five minutes before logging on to obtain a few tickets. These sell out incredibly quickly, and you'll need to be ready to go in advance of the scheduled time, with your finger working that F5 key to destruction so that you can get into the queue in a decent position. Don't alt-tab around, don't get a coffee. If you can recruit friends, do! Working as a group can be the very best way to try to ensure that you can secure tickets for you and your friends. You'll need a little organization and communication, but it's worth it, this is BlizzCon, people! This time of day is also far more sociable for the EU than the previous time, so bear that in mind when planning your raid on the battle.net site. Pre-pot for this one! There are also tickets to an exclusive pre-BlizzCon dinner to benefit Children's Hospital of Orange County go on sale Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m. PDT. Blizzard wants you to Ask the Artists this BlizzCon
BlizzCon thunders towards us like some great thundering thing. This year, BlzzCon will include a chance for you to ask questions on the forums and have them answered at the convention. BlizzCon: Ask the Artists - Zarhym At this year's BlizzCon we have a stage dedicated to featuring Blizzard artists of all disciplines and styles, from Glenn Rane (Digital Painting, Creative Development) to Samwise Didier (Traditional Drawing, StarCraft II). Whether you're attending the event or watching from home, we're giving you the opportunity to ask a question of the artists in this thread. All you have to do is list the discipline and/or category below which best fits your art-related question and ask away. BlizzCon 2011 presale merchandise now available
Just like last year, Blizzard has made certain BlizzCon-exclusive items available for preorder by BlizzCon 2011 ticketholders. There are almost 100 pieces of merchandise available this year, from designer toys to poker sets to calendars to Starcraft 2 Mega Bloks sets, and they're ready to be viewed (and purchased) right this very moment! BlizzCon 2011 merchandise pre-sale begins early
After last year's BlizzCon merchandise presale delays, Blizzard is doing pre-sales early this year. The merchandise pre-sale will go live on Sept. 16 for BlizzCon ticket holders and Sept. 23 for digital ticket purchasers. If you'd like to avoid delays like last year and have your stuff available for the con, it is advisable to order early. We will have a gallery of the pre-sale merchandise available as soon as the store opens up for business. Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Look at what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!
Second batch of BlizzCon tickets on sale Wednesday, May 25
Here's a quick reminder for everyone trying for BlizzCon 2011 tickets again -- the second batch of tickets is going on sale Wednesday, May 25 at 7 p.m. Pacific, 10 p.m. Eastern. The first batch of tickets sold out in seconds -- but unlike other years, not many problems were reported, and things went surprisingly smoothly. To purchase tickets, you'll need to go to Blizzard's BlizzCon tickets page. This is the page you are going to want to refresh constantly in order to purchase passes. Tickets sell out in literally seconds, so be quick with refreshing and clicking purchase. Once you click purchase, you'll be placed into a queue where you will wait for your chance to purchase tickets. If you are one of the lucky few, you'll be brought immediately to the purchase page. Tickets cost $175 each and are limited to four tickets per household/address. Here are some tips when attempting to purchase BlizzCon tickets: Log into your Battle.net account prior to going to the ticket page. The ticket queue will reach critical mass in seconds -- you need to refresh quickly and often. Start refreshing prior to the exact moment tickets go on sale. Everyone's clocks are different. Also, remember that the ticket information for each ticket you bought needs to be filled out and completed by June 10 at 8 p.m. Pacific time. If you need to change the information later than that date, check the BlizzCon tickets badge information page.
BlizzCon 2011: Round one of ticket sales are sold out
The first round of tickets for BlizzCon 2011 is sold out. Would-be convention-goers snagged up the tickets quickly, as predicted, and queues reached into the 12,000-15,000 range. BlizzCon tickets will go on sale once more on Wednesday, May 25, at 7 p.m. PST (10 p.m. EST). Here are some fun BlizzCon ticket facts: Based on queue positions when tickets sold out, likely less than 4,000 total transactions were completed. The WoW Insider staff all clicked to buy our tickets at nearly the exact same second. Some of us didn't get a queue. Others ended up 13,000 deep. Whether or not you're getting a BlizzCon ticket today was a matter of one single second. Did you get the number of tickets you needed? Are you ready for BlizzCon? I got my tickets, and cannot wait to see everyone in October at the annual WoW Insider reader meetup party.
BlizzCon 2011 tickets on sale May 21 and 25
Blizzard has announced via the BlizzCon site that tickets for BlizzCon 2011 will be available for purchase in two batches: once on May 21 at 10 a.m. Pacific time, and a second time on May 25 at 7 p.m. Pacific time. The price has increased (again) to $175 per ticket. Virtual tickets will be available for $39.95, the same as last year. Those wishing to attend the charity dinner can do so by purchasing the $500 ticket at Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. [EDIT: May 25th ticket sales start at 7 p.m. PT, not 7 a.m. PT.]

Did you miss out on purchasing tickets last Wednesday evening on June 2? Don't worry! You still have a shot at getting tickets for BlizzCon, which will be taking place October 22-23 in Anaheim, California! This is just a reminder that the next round of ticket sales will be available tomorrow, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. PDT / 1:00 p.m. EDT. Remember, you can only purchase a maximum of five tickets per household. Jay Mohr will be hosting BlizzCon again this year. Ticket prices are $150 each and they will sell out quickly! Make sure you're online and ready to go at the Blizzard Store or the BlizzCon website in the morning. If you can't score tickets, the DirecTV Pay Per View event might help satisfy your hunger for the Blizzard event. It's only $39.95 and you get access to the multi-channel internet stream. If you've purchased the internet stream, you can switch between a variety of channels to watch different areas of BlizzCon. In other words, you get watch the events you care about more than others!

A reminder to those planning on purchasing BlizzCon 2010 tickets: The first round of sales for tickets will be tomorrow, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. PDT/10:00 p.m. EDT. BlizzCon 2010 will be taking place Oct. 22-23 in Anaheim, California. Tickets are $150 each. For those unable to get tickets during tomorrow's window, there will be a second round of sales on Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. PDT/1:00 p.m. EDT. There is a five-ticket limit per household. For those unable to attend the convention proper, the DirecTV Pay Per View event will return in 2010 for $39.95, as well as the multi-channel internet stream of the event. For the first time, anyone who purchases the internet stream will be able to switch freely between multiple channels of coverage dedicated to different areas of BlizzCon, meaning viewers can tune in to the sections they're most interested in, rather than what they're stuck with. And, of course, WoW.com will be bringing you live blogs of everything and complete event coverage. For those planning to purchase tickets: This is your reminder. Make sure you're online and at the Blizzard Store or the official BlizzCon website tomorrow evening, play a few rounds of Failoc-alypse and hope your fingers are fast, because these tickets are sure to sell out within seconds.
BlizzCon 2010 tickets on sale June 2nd and June 5th for $150
BlizzCon 2010 tickets will be on sale Wednesday June 2nd at 7:00 p.m. PDT and Saturday June 5th at 10:00 a.m. PDT according to a Blizzard Press release. BlizzCon 2010 will be taking place October 22nd and 23rd in Anaheim, California. Tickets are $150 each, and will be purchased through the same Blizzard Store system used last year. The internet stream and the DirecTV package will be back this year for $39.95. There will be an in-game item this year associated with the the internet stream, the ticket, and the DirecTV package -- just like in previous years. However, details of what the item exactly is have not been announced yet.
BlizzCon attendees to get beta key for 'upcoming Blizzard game'
Another great reason to hit up BlizzCon August 3 and 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center: all attendees will receive, in addition to other swag, a beta key for "an upcoming Blizzard game." Though nondescript, our initial reaction is to think the beta is for Starcraft II -- a very likely candidate, given its recent unveiling, its perceived progress, and that Blizzard has yet to reveal any other upcoming titles. However, the secretive developer could also be working on, say, a World of Warcraft expansion. We're not getting our hopes up until Blizzard announces what game is being beta tested.Also revealed as swag for the event is the pictured Murloc Suit that you can give your WoW avatar.
