The dust had just settled from Bayern Munich's 7-2 thumping of Tottenham when ESPN made arguably its biggest ESPN+ announcement to date. Starting with the 2020 season, ESPN+ will be the home of the Bundesliga in the US and fans will be able to stream every regular season match, plus the DFL Supercup, relegation playoffs and more. The standalone streaming service already offered a lot of soccer, now it's quickly becoming the best option for following the sport. And it still, miraculously, only costs $5 a month.

Last year we called ESPN+ "essential for the cord-cutting sports fan" partially due to its deep roster of streaming soccer options. Since then we've seen the addition of FA Cup and CONMEBOL Copa America action, and now it's the exclusive US broadcast home of Bundesliga, Germany's top soccer league, dislodging Fox from that role starting in August 2020. That includes some 300+ per season broadcast in both English and Spanish, live coverage of the DFL Supercup, Bundesliga 2 matches and some of the highlight shows that surround them. If you watch ESPN on cable, then they will air a "select" slate of matches, as well as highlights.

Fox Sports and NextVR are at it again. The two have paired up for live sports broadcasts in VR before and now they're bringing those immersive views to the pitch in Munich. This weekend marks the beginning of the Bundesliga soccer season in Germany, so what better way to celebrate the kickoff than with a virtual reality live stream. Friday's matchup between defending league champions Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen will be available in VR for owners of Samsung's Gear VR headset. What's more, this is the first time Bundesliga action has been available in virtual reality.

The Bundesliga, Germany's top-tier football league, is coming to YouTube. After recently securing US broadcast rights for this competition, Fox Sports has now announced it will stream a live match via Google's video service on August 14th. As the network points out, it's the first time one of its major sporting events heads to YouTube, which is going to let people in the US watch the initial game of the 2015-2016 Bundesliga season for free. Not surprisingly, the match between current league champions Bayern Munich and Hamburg is also going to be streamed across Fox's own services: Fox Sports Go, Fox Soccer 2 Go and FoxSports.com.
