That's right, folks, a roundup of previews. We're gonna be straight with you and outright say it -- we burn too easily! Our skin is delicate and important to us, and as such, we couldn't make it to Capcom's Miami-based press event last week to play, among other things, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. But these folks all did and they ... well, they sorta like it: GamesRadar: "The focus on shooting, special abilities and co-op interaction is decidedly atypical for the RE universe; there's no conserving ammo, no turning with your tail between your legs, just balls-out violence against a sea of shambling undead. Yes, that does mean you can move and shoot at the same time, something even the action-heavy RE5 didn't support." Eurogamer: "Capcom's idea was to create a dark, gritty shooter with smooth controls and a focus on multiplayer. It's not about fear any more ... The result is a fast-paced co-operative and competitive shooter ... It's impossible to overstate how different REORC feels compared to other Resident Evil games, even Resi 5. That is to say it feels like a third-person shooter, a SOCOM game. Your targeting reticule darts about the screen like a bee disturbed from its hive. Your character covers ground quickly with a simple click of the left thumb stick. Turning, the simple act of changing direction, feels responsive. From cover you can blind fire, lob grenades or pop in and out for deadly accurate shooting. And, shock horror, you can move and shoot." IGN: "The game revisits one of the most iconic eras of the franchise, taking place entirely during Resident Evils 2 and 3, and specifically focusing on events in Raccoon City itself. While we've seen prequels (Resident Evil Zero) before, this time around players can actually change the storylines of previous games, even killing some of the series' biggest icons like Leon Kennedy. That immediately places Raccoon City in a bit of an 'alternate timeline' territory, though the game's producer told us new details about the Resident Evil world would be revealed. " MTV Multiplayer blog: "I came away from Raccoon City with the impression that there was still a lot of work to be done. At present, it doesn't feel like much more than a reskinned SOCOM with zombies. If you're not a big fan of SOCOM, you're probably going to experience the same problems in RE:RC, namely the stilted controls and loose aiming mechanics."%Gallery-120990%

It doesn't look like the Umbrella Security Service team got much training before embarking on Operation Raccoon City. Taking a zombie hostage? Really? That's how you plan to negotiate with Mr. Leon S. Kennedy? Good luck with that.

Six fighters have joined the ranks of confirmed characters in Capcom's crossover fighting game, Street Fighter X Tekken. We already knew Ryu, Chun-Li, Kazuya and Nina Williams would be exchanging blows when the game drops next year -- now we can add Ken, Guile and Abel to the Street Fighter camp, and King, Marduk and Bob to Team Tekken. We think this opens up some pretty interesting teammate possibilities. Like, can you imagine a more terrifying fighting force than one that includes an army guy who can punch through the sound barrier and another guy who replaced his own head with a jaguar head? We cannot. Check out the galleries, gameplay trailer and totally trippy cinematic trailer below for a look at these new-old pugilists in action!

You couldn't have known that today would be the day you saw a six-armed man battle a giant's finger. But here we are, in the cold light of Tuesday morning, watching the latest trailer for Asura's Wrath and marveling at the pure, unbridled madness to be found therein. The latest trailer and screens (seen below) were loosed this morning from last week's Capcom press event, so you'll excuse their rich brown tans in mid-April. Unfortunately, it seems no new info was given on the "serialized drama" and action title, but hopefully we'll hear more at this year's E3.%Gallery-120983%

  • Dragon's Dogma is an open-world action game from Capcom

Announced during Capcom's Captivate event – in Miami this year! – Dragon's Dogma is billed as "a unique action experience that blends exciting and fulfilling combat with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world." Oh, that world is also "open." Your party of three must "track down and destroy a mysterious dragon," but there will be plenty of other critters to slay on your journey. It shouldn't be a surprise that Capcom is tying DD's lineage to two of its most successful action titles; the press release says it's from "the creators behind some of Capcom's best action games" including Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4. Those creators include producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and director Hideaki Itsuno. The new game is being built on an "enhanced" version of the company's already impressive MT Framework engine (think: Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2) and will track down and destroy your Xbox 360 or PS3 some time in "early 2012."%Gallery-120999%

Did you ever wonder what Dead Rising 2 would have been like had it been Frank West hitting zombies with oars, instead of Chuck Greene? Well, start wondering now, so your new curiosity can be sated by Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Capcom's remake of a game that came out last year. Set in a "what-if" scenario, Off the Record puts Frank West in Fortune City in Chuck's place, with new missions, new enemies, new weapons and "a brand new Fortune City attraction to explore." The update also features "enhancements to elements such as the save system and the co-op experience." But mostly, it's an "enhancement" to the amount of money Capcom can get out of Dead Rising 2. Between this and the XBLA games, this is the fourth game to bear the title Dead Rising 2. It'll be out on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in the fall.%Gallery-121017%
