Frankly, we were a tad shocked at just how large Logitech's floor presence actually was, but then again, nearly everything looks sizable once you crawl out of Sanyo's mini-hut. Nevertheless, Logitech was out in full force at CEDIA demonstrating its Squeezebox, MX Air mouse, diNovo Edge keyboard, Harmony remotes, and the seemingly new Transporter, which was dubbed "the first audiophile network music player." Moreover, the device packed an AK4396 "Miracle DAC," a rack-mountable design, and support for IR, IP and RS-232 control schemes, and if it's pictures you want, then it's picture you'll get.%Gallery-7120%

There's just no way to followup a visit to Dish Network's booth than to hit up DirecTV directly afterwards, eh? Sadly, DirecTV's space was packed to the brim with individuals and an excessive amount of TVs, but we squeaked our way through the madness to get some shots of the company's HR21 Pro, which touts a sexy black chassis, a slew of ports in the rear, and interestingly enough, Viiv-certification. Oh, and the only murmurs we heard about the next big rollout of channels involved the phrase "between next week and next year."%Gallery-7069%

  • Hands-on with Niveus' Media Center Extender

While Microsoft representatives at CEDIA were being exceedingly selfish with any information about the media-centric partnership with D-Link and Linksys, Niveus was putting all its cards right there on the table. Essentially, Microsoft claims that the actual hardware from Linksys and D-Link "could change" from its current form, but apparently, Niveus has a finalized product (reportedly dubbed Niveus Media Extender) ready to roll. The touchscreen interface functioned about as well as you'd expect, and while it did lag slightly at times, the overall feel was pretty fluid. Per usual, the hands-on goodness lies beneath, and oh yeah, official specs and such should be landing later this month.UPDATE: Gallery also includes photos of the Vantage touchscreen and Rainier rig that Niveus was using on the floor.%Gallery-7074%

Just as expected, Exceptional Innovation was showing off its new Model 754 LifeMedia Server at CEDIA, and sure enough, that bad boy was sportin' no fewer than four CableCARD slots. According to an on-site representative, this very machine should start shipping out to consumers within a month or so, and while we can only imagine how pricey this niche system will be, we're certain there's a few hardcore television viewers out there that will gleefully pony up.%Gallery-7072%

Dish Network's booth was certainly not destitute of propaganda, but it did provide an open look at its current line of DVRs and receivers as well as giving onlookers something else to look forward to. We'd hate to leave you hangin' like that, so follow the trail on over to EngadgetHD for the full skinny, alright?

We've no idea what happened to Sanyo, but if any less of the company showed up at CEDIA, its exhibitor spot would be entirely barren. Sanyo's booth was actually smaller than a lot of lesser-known firms, and aside from a small selection of (admittedly brand new) projectors, there simply wasn't much anything there to gawk at. Regardless, we were able to point the lens at the outfit's PLC-WXU10, PLC-WXU30 and LP-Z2000 projectors, but considering that the buck stopped there, we really hope you're into boxy PJs.%Gallery-7065%

Well, it seems like the Moxi HD DMR is progressing along just fine, you know, considering that the thing had an entire booth at CEDIA dedicated to it. According to the firm's website, everything is still scheduled for a "fall release," and while we're still not sure how much this stuff will run you, the demo stations looked might impressive, indeed. The hardware units all tout a sleek, stylish and simplistic enclosure, and the crystal clear interface was a sight to behold. Don't believe it? Check it out for yourself below.%Gallery-7062%

  • Hands-off with Panasonic's PT-AE2000U 1080p projector

For whatever reason, Panasonic decided to safeguard its recently unveiled PT-AE2000U projector just like JVC did with its mysterious Blu-ray player, and while we did bust out our trusty MacGyver tool in an attempt to unlock the glass case, our efforts were in vain. All jesting aside, we did our best to snap a few somewhat legible photos of Panasonic's latest and greatest 1080p home cinema projector, and while it seemed as if the company was trying to keep the area surrounding this bad boy devoid of light, trust us when we say it looked mighty luxurious.%Gallery-7061%

Panasonic was aiming to "Live in High Definition" here at CEDIA, and judging by the serious setup it brought to town, we vote the effort a success. The booth had everything one could want: LIFI sets, walls of flat-panels, comfy couches, and free sandwiches. Okay, we're just kidding about the last part, but why not give Panny's gallery a visit to see what we're yappin' about.

Just as Philips had tunnel vision with remotes, Fujitsu seemed quite content with focusing almost entirely on its array of HDTVs. Notably, the style factor was unusually high at this locale, and while they did seem a tad out of place, a few beefy projectors (like the LFP-D711WB) were doing their best to look good. Judge for yourself, the pictures are right down there.%Gallery-7059%

Epson sure loves to stuff DVD players into its projectors, and while the newest duo has yet to make the jump to HD DVD or Blu-ray, they still look to be the perfect device for those who need movie projection on the go. The MovieMate 50 and MovieMate 72 are reportedly slated to land within a few months, but head on over to the gallery for an early look at what to expect.

Nah, Epson didn't bother bringing along any scanners or laptops to CEDIA, but for whatever reason, it seemed to forget half of the projectors we expected to see, too. Nevertheless, the HT-centric flavors were all in attendance, so feel free to check the gallery out and witness a wall (but regrettably, just one) full of drool-worthy PJs.

While Toshiba was off boasting about its third-generation HD DVD player lineup, Integra was quietly showcasing its very first player to handle the high-definition format. Interestingly, we had no issues getting a number of closeups, and while the player seemed to sneak under the noses of most folks there, we were able to get a little insight into the firm's future HD plans. 'Course, you'll have to visit our next door neighbor to find out more, and give those snapshots a look while you're over, will ya?

We'll be straight with you: Hitachi's booth was pretty disappointing. Not a lot of displays, very little new wares, and no robotic servant walking around with complimentary tissues. Still, it's worth a brief look just to say you (sorta) went, so head on over to EngadgetHD for the goods.

  • Mitsubishi's CEDIA booth tour

Up next on our journey through CEDIA 2007 is Mitsubishi, which seemed to separate its projectors from the rest of its inventory on the floor. Nevertheless, the firm did have a micro projector in action alongside the beastly HC6000, and just across the way were too many HDTVs to count. Interestingly, Mitsu chose to erect an entire wall of its own to show off a few UltraThin Frame LCDs, but we utilized the questionably scientific finger-gap test to show that these sets weren't quite as thin as Toshiba's RF350U. Another treat came when we witnessed a trio of incredibly engrossed (or bored, 'twas hard to tell) individuals trying to make sense of a 3D display, so be sure and share in the fun below, capiche?%Gallery-7050%

JVC's booth wasn't exactly enthralling this year, but there were still quite a few devices worth checking out briefly. Aside from the bevy of Full HD flat-panels adorning nearly every wall, the firm was also touting a number of speaker sets, Procision D-ILA projectors (the DLA-HD100 in particular), and a couple of displays set up to showcase the benefits of 120Hz technology. Also of note was the totally encased JVC Blu-ray player and the table of HD Everio camcorders, all of which garnered a lot of enviable looks. • Hands-on with Philips' TSU line of remote controls

Considering that the bulk of Philips' gear was of the remote control variety, we figured it best to take a closer look at what all the firm was offering. The fellow up there on the right was spotted at last year's CEDIA, but the two siblings beside it are reportedly going to land sometime in the next few months. From left to right, you'll see the TSU9200, TSU9400, and the tried and true TSU9600, all which were designed to make controlling your life from the couch a bit more plausible. Neither of the newbies were particularly comfortable to hold, but when you can flip on / off tunes, switch off the lights, and fire up your TiVo with a simple button press, we guess we can deal.%Gallery-7038%

Philips didn't exactly have a huge presence at CEDIA, but it made darn sure to let everyone know it was serious about the remote control biz. Aside from a plethora of uninspiring peripherals laying around, the firm had multiple tables with a variety of intelligent remotes (the TSU9200, TSU9400 and TSU9600 were most prominent) for use with in-home music streaming and home automation. Notably, there were a few digiframes and TVs on display too, but it was quite clear what this firm came here to prove.%Gallery-7035%

Nah, we couldn't stop with just taking a closer look at Toshiba's third-gen HD DVD player lineup, so we decided to give you all a much better view at just how thin the bezels really are on the firm's REGZA Super Narrow Bezel LCD. Announced this morning for the US, these 40- and 46-inch panels claim to posses a bezel smaller than one-inch wide, and as you can see in the gallery below, it's definitely the truth. Oh, and the image quality wasn't half bad, either.%Gallery-7162%

As you're well aware by now, Toshiba came out today and got (really) official about its third-generation HD DVD lineup, which includes the HD-A3, HD-A30 and the HD-A35. The company was most certainly pushin' HD DVD at its booth today, so it made sense that these three units were the first most people saw when entering through. Each device looked fairly similar to its siblings, but we went ahead and grabbed photos of 'em one by one just to be safe.%Gallery-7031%
