If the Samsung t339 in jet black was simply too shadowy for your tastes, how's about a few pixels of white and gray meshed in? The WiFi-packin' flip phone has just arrived in an all new, completely groundbreaking hue: Charcoal. We know what you're thinking: "Why didn't T-Mobile issue a more drastically different color?" Our response is that is "we simply have no idea whatsoever," but those digging the shade pictured above can get in now for $0.00 on contract.[Via CellPhone signal]

  • Well Fed Buff: Charred Bear Kabobs

Well Fed Buff serves up tasty dishes to boost your HP, stats and appetite – with that special WoW twist, of course. Spring is in the air and it's time to start thinking about grilling. For this week's Well Fed Buff, we get to enjoy Charred Bear Kabobs. In World of Warcraft, these tasty delights restore 1933 health over 27 seconds. Charred Bear Kabobs require level forty-five, and if you spend at least 10 seconds eating you will become well fed and gain 24 attack power for 15 min. The recipe can be purchased from Malygen in Felwood. Real life kabobs are a tasty way to express your creativity. Sadly, I was unable to find any Bear Flanks in Las Vegas on short notice. I had to opt for pork loin. It seemed a reasonable substitute. Kabobs are a relatively simple way for fantastic Sunday afternoon bar-b-que dishes, and well worth the effort for a weeknight meal. Impress your friends with fantastic treats that pair perfectly with your World of Warcraft adventures. Have fun whipping up some or our delicious snacks, meals, and beverages.

  • Charcoal is the new black: Test Fest '08 details

As they promised last week, the Tabula Rasa community crew has finally released the details for Test Fest '08, their new promotion to encourage players to take an active role in keeping TR bug free. Starting January 21 (that's today) through January 28, any player with an active account who logs two or more hours on the public test server will receive 10x "Charcoal Colored Armor Dye" on February 14. Gamers as a group probably have more angst per capita than the general population, and the concurrent desire for black digs has gone unmet so far by Destination Games. There's no black armor dye of any sort in the game right now; it's mostly a mixture of horrible looking pastels and bright fluorescent colors. Now, why they would choose to give us the black armor dye on Valentine's Day of all days is beyond me, but sometimes it's better not to ask questions and take the goodies when somebody offers them to you.As an amusing aside, it's interesting to note how what was previously referred to as "Black Armor Dye" in the official materials has undergone a sudden shift to being referred to as "Charcoal Colored Armor Dye." Methinks somebody over at the Tabula Rasa team realized what a horrible faux pas it was to have an announcement for "black" armor dye on Martin Luther King Day, of all days. This is further supported by the fact that they sort of buried the announcement within the Weekend Wrapup. What was once a big exciting promotion is now a one sentence blurb hidden amongst other smaller announcements. Oops!

  • Reader UI of the Week: February 14 - 20

This week, Krool (of the guild Heartless, on Daggerspine US)shows off his pre-TBC UI, so think of this as one of those flashbacks you may see in LOST or Jericho or whatever show is doing flashbacks this week. I remember using Charcoal's unit frames and fonts way back, but could never develop an appreciation for, or understanding of, Discord Unit Frames. I'm really digging the borders around the UI elements, separating them from the rest of the screen. Is there any way to do something like this without Discord? Anyway, I digress, and here's Krool to tell you about his UI: Here's a screenshot of my UI. Unfortunately Charcoal isn't working any more and I'm so sad. It was my favorite bar auto-configurator of all time. As far as basic action bar, player and target bar geometry flexibility, Charcoal pwned everyting else I've ever seen. Crash said he's working on it, but it's going to take some time. But having said that, the screenshot enclosed is my UI the way I like it best of all at any time since the original beta when I started playing.
