It's been awhile since we heard from Claire, the pixelated 2D horror game from Hailstorm Games; almost three years, actually. Having gathered enough votes on Steam Greenlight since then, the game is now complete and available to purchase on Steam. Claire follows the life of a young girl named Jennifer - just kidding, her name is totally Claire. Anyway, like most young children, Claire has nightmares about the things that go bump in the night. Unlike most children, Claire actually has something to fear, as her nightmares become real and invade the real world. Armed with a flashlight, Claire must explore and survive the darkness as she seeks out her mother. Claire has been available since the beginning of the month for PC, but Mac users just got their chance at exploring its haunted pixels earlier this week. [Thanks, David!] [Image: Hailstorm Games]

A girl and her dog are trapped and stalked in the nightmarish world of Claire, a 2D horror game currently looking for votes on Steam Greenlight and aiming to launch on PC, Mac and Linux. Claire follows the protagonist and her canine companion through several stages of life, in a tale that eventually uncovers her connection to a bizarre world. As a spooky story, Claire adheres to certain tenets of the survival-horror genre, like scrounging for items, managing supplies and helping others trapped in the environment. Enemies, which appear to be black clouds of evil, can be defeated by the light – flashlights and flashbang grenades are specifically mentioned on the Steam Greenlight page. The game, which is currently in alpha, also promises to have a built-in editor for creating and sharing custom levels. Hailstorm Games hopes to launch Claire in October or November of this year.

Aha! The phone you heard about here first has made its second document-based appearance, this time crossing the Atlantic and showing up on a T-Mobile inventory sheet. We can apparently look forward to accessorizing our HD7s with a leather sleeve, a "charge shell," a pair of different screen protectors, and two flexible protective covers made by Speck. Most of these parts are expected to arrive on November 1, and since accessories aren't much good without something to put them on, we can probably expect that to mean the HD7 will be dropping some time before November. It's expected on October 18 in the UK, which dovetails neatly with the idea of it being a headline Windows Phone 7 device from HTC -- that's about the time Microsoft promised WP7's European launch. As to that "Dell Claire" you see near the top, we're hearing it's the T-Mo version of the Dell Streak. [Thanks, John and Jakub]

Show us how you express yourself by contacting our tips line (attention: World of WarCrafts) -- not-for-profit work only, please.Don't have enough time left to assemble a costume for the BlizzCon costume contest (or maybe it was the fierce competition that Feared you off)? We see you poking around over there for ideas that allow you to dip into the spirit of things -- you know, something that doesn't require blue makeup, showing your belly button or spending the next 72 hours with pins, glue and an X-acto knife at the kitchen table ...Dear cosplay casual, we have your backs (or in this case, your fronts): a mask of one of the new races to be announced at BlizzCon, from Shelbi of The Bronze Kettle. Shelbi (a World of WarCrafts alum and former columnist, herself) dropped us a line to let us know that she's posted a how-to for masking yourself as one of the races of the moment [Spoilers]. This one's as quick, easy and good-looking as they come, so click over to Shelbi's complete instructions and face up to this heady way to look like one of the in crowd at BlizzCon.After the break, we'll include a spoilerific picture of the front of the new masks (SPOILER ALERT: don't click onward if you don't want to see which race the gorgeous sample represents!), plus we'll announce the World of WarCrafts crafters who've been selected for an upcoming geek crafts book from Chronicle Books.

Did you catch the images in the "monster" as it faced down Eko? I don't have any screen grabs but Kevin might later, the'yre talking about it over on TV Squad also. Thanks to the high definition DVR I was able to make out the images as they flashed by, this wasn't so much of an HDTV easter egg as a Tivo-egg, because there's no way you would be able to see all the images without frame-by-frame. Church Eko as a child a woman the man he shot his brother and the gun an upside down picture of Eko coming out of the water after the plane crash the man who pushed him off of the missionary plane the woman who sold the figurines two flashes of Eko holding his dying brother Jesus on the cross All they need is a subplot about how Eko used to be in a wheelchair and he and Locke will officially be the exact same person. One of the best shows in HD is back and it should be an interesting rest of the season.
