Link, Impa, Zelda and a few others will introduce fields of foes to a world of hurt in Hyrule Warriors, but Nintendo Life reports that Japanese fans will earn extra tunics and dresses by ponying up for non-standard editions of the game. The official website appears to offer three different editions of Hyrule Warriors, with courage, wisdom and power-themed costume sets serving as rewarding DLC. Nintendo Life links the courage set to the standard edition of Hyrule Warriors, with the Premium Box version bundling the courage and wisdom sets together. Nintendo Life describes both as three-piece sets, which each feature a Twilight Princess-themed outfit for Link or Zelda, but notes that the Treasure Box edition of Hyrule Warriors will bundle both sets with two additional power-themed costumes. Considering the series' traditional splitting of Triforce pieces, we'll try and curb hopes that those are for a playable version of Ganon ... No DLC announcements have been made for Hyrule Warriors' Western launch, but it's interesting to see Nintendo approaching what feels like a standard practice for high-profile releases from other publishers. City of Heroes players, we hope you're ready for a flashback because the game's new Retro Sci-fi costume pieces are full of old-school goodness right out of yesteryear's sci-fi classics. Ray-guns, jetpacks, and shiny suits with rings on them are all present in the new costume pieces that were initially conceived with fan input at last year's City of Heroes fan summit. The folks at PC Gamer had the chance to sit down with Paragon Studios' Eric Johnsen to talk a bit about the new additions. Johnsen talks briefly about the creation of the costume set's conception at the fan summit and the process of taking those ideas and turning them into full, in-game costume pieces. If you want to know anything about the design process of the Retro Sci-fi set or about the most recent fan-designed costume set and its release, head on over to the full article and give it a read.

Cryptic has updated its Champions Online website with an interesting look at what's next for the superhero MMO's costumes and environments. The update is part of the Art Corner miniseries, which is a bi-weekly look behind the curtain at Cryptic's art department. Lead artist Brad Stokan takes us through some new bells and whistles in development for Champions' Powerhouse locale. If you're unfamiliar with the game, the Powerhouse is a type of testing ground where heroes can sample new abilities and work on their builds. This week's Art Corner shows off several new customizable dueling arenas as well as a theater designed to host a variety of in-game events. We also get a glimpse of Champions' new Golden Age costume set, and as the name indicates, the set is all about paying homage to a period in comic book history that featured "edgy anti-heroes who went to war with crime fully decked out with weapons, equipment, straps, pouches, and more pouches!"

Villains will find some improvement to the Mastermind set, and that Snake Eggs will once again hatch. While there's no stated release date for the patch to go live on the regular servers, if you have the opportunity to so do, download and try it out on Test.
