Archlord 2 invites players to name soundtrack pieces
Archlord 2's soundtrack is not only out and available as a free download, but Webzen is asking players to title the 20 nameless pieces in time for the game's release. The soundtrack by composer Cris Velasco is on SoundCloud and is available for a listen or a download. Players can check out the tracks and then, if inspired, they can submit one or more titles to go along with them. Webzen promised that when all 20 tracks get proper names, it will flip on the switch for a 20% bonus gold weekend in the game.
Jukebox Heroes: Hellgate London's soundtrack
Hellgate London was a title that I was highly anticipating back in the day. It was a post-apocalyptic MMO action-RPG brought to us by the makers of Diablo, all with techno-warriors and jaunts through the London Underground. I was on board with that. Sure, we all know how it ended and will probably kvetch about it in the comments, but I feel comfortable in saying that the concept sounded pretty awesome. Ironically, the sound is what remained with me long after my days in that game were through. It's no surprise, as the composing duo of Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan have tackled many other high-profile video game projects together, such as Prototype, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. This score is pretty easy to get a hold of these days (try Amazon). It's a solid pick that has a few great tracks, as long as you're willing to tolerate darker themes.
Tron: Evolution getting two Daft Punk tracks
Though it's been officially confirmed that Jeff Bridges won't be heard as Kevin Flynn in the forthcoming Tron: Evolution game, French robots (and DJs) Daft Punk will be lending two tracks from the film's soundtrack to the game. Disney announced this morning that Daft Punk's "Derezzed" and "The Grid" will show up in the game, alongside tracks from Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco and Kevin Manthei. Their addition was first teased during New York Comic-Con last month. If you have a burning love for Daft Punk and need the entire film's soundtrack, you'll be able to grab it on December 7 alongside Tron: Evolution.
