AT&T subscribers haven't had the greatest international roaming options. The carrier's Passport plans give you a tiny amount of data even at the highest tier, which could make it cheaper to unlock your phone and use a travel-friendly SIM card. At last, though, the network is offering something for travelers who don't want to scale back their usage while abroad. It's introducing an International Day Pass that lets you use your domestic plan (including data) in over 100 countries for $10 per day. It goes a little further, too: you can make unlimited calls to both the US and any Day Pass country, and as many texts as you like anywhere in the world. Passes will be available starting on January 27th.

  • T-Mobile prepaid account management on the fritz for the past week, Web DayPasses hard to buy

A quick gander at T-Mobile's official support forums suggests that the carrier's prepaid customers have been in a world of hurt for the past few days -- or the ones that use data, at least. The problem seems to be that visiting the page where you top up on $1.49 Web DayPasses for daily web access produced one of a number of errors, which effectively means that your phone has been reduced to a calling and texting machine... and let's be honest: we're only in this for the data, right? Calls to customer service have apparently rooted out that the Thanksgiving holiday accounted for part of the delay in getting the issue fixed, but as far as we know, it's still not totally back to normal -- so let us know what you're seeing in comments. A full month of mobile web on your phone seem like a bit much? A tad overwhelming, perhaps? Alltel subscribers now have an option situated squarely between per-kilobyte and monthly rates for its "Axcess" content: the easy-to-swallow Day Pass, coming in at just $1.49 for 24 hours of all-you-can-eat news, sports, and miscellany. Of course, customers are still more than welcome to buy ringtones, wallpapers, and games over their data connection without paying a dime -- but if you simply must know the score in the game, you're now just $1.49 away.
