It's not every day that we get to tell you about a new MMOTPS (that's third-person shooter, if you're wondering), so without further delay: Hey guys, check out this new MMOTPS! It's called Deep Black, though we're wondering why it's not called Deep Blue since much of the action apparently takes place underwater and in the air via various forms of jetpack. Don't worry, land-lubbers, there's plenty of action on terra firma as well. The title is being developed by Biart Studio, a Russian outfit headquartered in the Moscow equivalent of Silicon Valley, and the game will feature "fully customizable [character] appearance, more than 30 types of sci-fi weapons, and three game modes at launch," according to a Biart press release. The game is a F2P instanced shooter featuring eight to 24 players, and it's coming to a PC near you in the near future. You can check out our sister site's Deep Black reveal from last summer, and you'll also want to head to the game's official website to learn more.

505 Games and Russian developer Biart Studio have unveiled a new third-person shooter with a unique cover system: specifically, everything is covered with water. Most of the action in Deep Black takes place underwater, with players navigating the depths with "specialized underwater jet packs with integrated harpoons, mini submersibles and other high tech equipment." But it's not all swimmin' and shootin' -- 505 promises a storyline with "complex science-fiction mystery, espionage, and bio-terror." Deep Black is expected to surface in Q1 2011, joining Naughty Bear and Backbreaker as part of 505 Games's growing PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 lineup. Biart Studio is no stranger to games set underwater, having recently released the PSP mini, Reef Aquarium. %Gallery-97171% Show full PR text 505 Games Announce Deep Black Underwater Action Shooter coming to PS3 & X360 8th JUNE 2010 (Milton Keynes, UK) – 505 Games today announces a global agreement with Russian developer Biart Studio LLC, to publish Deep Black on Sony's PlayStation 3® and Microsoft's Xbox360® console systems. • NuVision's NVU52DCM Deep Black LCD HDTV gets reviewed

NuVision has just recently started shipping its Lucidium Deep Black LCD HDTVs out to anxious consumers, but before you go making any rash decisions about picking one up sign unseen, why not give Ultimate AV Mag's review a once over? The $4,199 (MSRP) set proved to be a mixed bag during testing, primarily due to the high standards the critics (understandably) held the unit to given the lofty price. In their words, "detail was excellent, and color looked much better than expected," but the blacks were only deemed "pretty good," and shadow detail was just "so-so." Overall, the 52-incher managed to really nail the basics (good port selection, tuner and image quality), and if it were priced around a grand less, UAM would've given it an "unqualified recommendation." As it stands, you're probably better off waiting for the price to sink or looking for another unit with more bang-for-the-buck.
