If you've been sold a code for post-apocalyptic adventure Metro Exodus, you might want to check where it came from. According to publisher Deep Silver, a number of keys have been stolen from the factory where physical key printing for the game had been taking place, before it became an Epic Games Store exclusive. In a post on Steam, the company explained that physical keys don't have the necessary files to run "as they were not meant to be released."
Rachel England04.02.2019THQ Nordic buys developer of 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance'
THQ Nordic, the games publisher that's made a name for itself picking up long-forgotten games studios, has added Warhorse Studios to its fold in a €33.2 million acquisition. The deal comes exactly a year after Warhorse launched controversial title Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which sparked a heated debate about the issue of whitewashing in video games. Despite this narrative, though -- and the fact that the game was born of a Kickstarter project -- the game has since sold some two million units across all platforms. So THQ Nordic has evidently made a smart addition to its motley catalogue of studios.
Rachel England02.13.2019APB: Reloaded to wreak MMO havoc on PS4, Xbox One
Free-to-play PC MMO All Points Bulletin: Reloaded is coming to consoles, thanks to a collaboration between publisher Deep Silver and developers Reloaded Games and The Workshop Entertainment. Barring catastrophe, APB: Reloaded is planned to launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the second quarter of 2015. The game will be free-to-play on both consoles, and while APB: Reloaded will be available for download to all PlayStation 4 owners, only those Xbox One owners with valid Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will be able to join the massively multiplayer game's perpetual crime spree. For those who don't keep tabs on mid-tier MMOs, APB: Reloaded began life in 2010 as APB: All Points Bulletin, a sort of mashup of World of Warcraft and Grand Theft Auto 3, under developer Realtime Worlds. Only a few months after APB: All Points Bulletin launched, Realtime Worlds went into administration (think of it as the European equivalent of bankruptcy) and the game's servers were shut down. Eventually the property was purchased and relaunched with a new developer (Reloaded Games) and new title. According to Deep Silver, since its rebirth in 2011, the PC version of APB: Reloaded has been downloaded more than five million times. [Image: Reloaded Games]
Earnest Cavalli01.23.2015APB: Reloaded coming to PS4 and Xbox One in Q2 2015
Last fall we heard that APB: Reloaded was reportedly working on bringing the crime spree MMO to consoles but was struggling with the companies to make that happen. Fortunately, it seems as though all of the details have been paved out, as APB is gearing up for its console debut in the latter part of the second quarter of this year. APB: Reloaded will be coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as a free-to-play title, although it will require Xbox owners to be part of the Xbox Live Gold service. The console adaptation is being handled by a joint effort between Reloaded Games, Deep Silver, and The Workshop. The Workshop CEO Peter Akemann says that the title will shine on the new hardware: "Because APB is such a technically complex game, featuring thousands of destructible objects and heavily customized players and vehicles in every scene, we are thrilled to help make APB a reality on these brand new high performance hardware platforms." To date, APB has had five million PC downloads since 2011. [Source: Reloaded Games press release]

If you ignore most of the other, far worse sins, wanton consumerism is diabolically evil, which is why it's so fitting that the launch trailer for Volition's upcoming Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell should appear as a lengthy informercial packed with 1-800 numbers and endless groin trauma.
