    Showtime offers a peek at Desus and Mero's talk show

    How will podcasters Desus and Mero handle a late-night talk show on Showtime? You now have a slightly better idea. Showtime has posted a teaser for Desus & Mero that has the duo shopping for set decorations ahead of their February 21st premiere. It's very much in the spirit of their earlier work, with the rapid-fire riffing and irreverence you'd hope for -- this isn't going to be some quiet, restrained discussion of the day's affairs.

    Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, hosts of the weeknight talk show Desus & Mero, are leaving Viceland and heading to Showtime. The two will host the network's first weekly late-night talk show on which they'll chat with guests about pop culture, sports, music, politics and other topics. "We're honored and excited to be joining the Showtime family," Desus Nice said in a statement. "The brand is stronger than ever and we look forward to continuing to make amazing authentic television that will make your wiggington explode."

    If you were wondering why the next Vampire Weekend album is taking so long, now you have your answer. It seems lead singer Ezra Koenig has been busy working on an anime with his celeb pals. We heard rumblings about it in the past (from Jude Law and Koenig) and now we're getting the first official trailer, directly from Netflix. The show, dubbed Neo Yokio, hits the streaming service on 22 September.

    The latest podcast-to-TV transfer hails from the Bronx, as Viceland announced plans for a late night talk show from Bodega Boys hosts Desus Nice and The Kid Mero. This is the 6 month-old channel's first dive into late night programming that co-president Eddy Moretti tells Variety is aimed towards "a young, smart, affluent audience." With a planned October launch, Desus & Mero could arrive on screens before we see in-development shows based on the Serial & Lore podcasts.
