RTI busts out V6 / A8 matrix switchers and CP-1680 audio amp
These are primarily for the pros, so we'll keep it short and sheet. RTI is getting set to unveil a trio of new products at CEDIA, the first of which routes eight analog audio and eight composite video sources to eight individual zones. Needless to say, that's the A8 Audio Distribution Matrix Switcher we're referring to. The V6 Video Distribution Matrix Switcher can switch six component and composite video sources between six varying zones, while the CP-1680 Multi-Channel Audio Amplifier provides audio through 16 channels at 80-watts each. Gefen gears up for CEDIA with Matrixes / distribution amplifiers
It's nearly that time of year again folks -- the hunt for the playoffs begins, school gets back in session and Gefen goes absolutely berserk. It's already gearing up for this year's CEDIA Expo in Denver by revealing details about an 8x4 HDMI Matrix -- which "allows up to eight high-definition video sources to be accessed at any time from any one of four HDMI displays" -- and a self-explanatory 4x4 Component Audio over CAT5 Matrix. Furthermore, the outfit is introducing the 1:2 and 1:4 Component Audio over CAT-5 Distribution Amplifiers, which "enable audio / video systems using the component format to split and deliver two or four identical signals." Tributaries offers up HDA140 1-in / 4-out HDMI distribution amplifier
We've got to say, Tributaries' T12 power strip was way more intriguing than this thing, but regardless of your excitement level, you may still need a distribution amplifier to send a single HDMI signal out in four different directions. The HDA140 is a 1-in, 4-out amp which pipes one HDMI signal to four zones up to 100-feet away; as expected, the unit is fully HDMI 1.3 / HDCP compliant and supports 1440p, Deep Color, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and refresh rates up to 120Hz. It's available now for $450.
TV One intros 1T-DA-500 line of DVI distribution amplifiers
Aw, TV One -- always there looking out for our switching / distributing needs. Today, we're being formally introduced to the 1T-DA-500 series of DVI-D distribution amplifiers, which consists of three professional units that "distribute two and four DVI-D signals from a single input." The 1T-DA-552 offers up a pair of DVI outputs, the 1T-DA-554 provides four DVI outputs and the 1T-DA-564 includes four DVI outputs in addition to four analog stereo and four S/PDIF coaxial audio outputs. The whole trio is compliant with HDMI 1.3 and HDCP, and Deep Color / lossless audio codecs are also supported. As for resolutions, you'll have no issues piping through 1,920 x 1,200 PC signals and HDTV resolutions up to 1080p, but it may be tough coughing up £165 ($328), £210 ($418) and £230 ($458) in order to take one home.
Octava unveils HDMI over Ethernet extender
If slinging HDMI signals over Ethernet sounds appealing to you, look no further than Octava's newest box. The HDMI over Ethernet extender enables users to transmit 1080p HDMI signals up to 150-feet over Ethernet (300-feet for 1080i), and while CAT6 is recommended, CAT5 should do the trick in a pinch. Of note, two Ethernet cables are necessary in order to carry audio / video as well as HDCP data, and both the receiver and transmitter are bundled with dedicated power supplies to ensure maximum performance. Expect the kit to ship next week for $199.
TVOne busts out two new HDMI switchers, four distribution amplifiers
TVOne is fleshing out its HDMI equipment lineup with the addition of two new HDMI 1.3 switchers and four HDMI 1.3 distribution amplifiers. The new half dozen are being aimed at the "demanding professional market," which means that these pieces will feature front panel status indicators for input signal / HDCP presence. As for the switchers, the 1T-SX-632 ($145) flips back and forth between two inputs, while the 1T-SX-634 ($195) switches up to four inputs. MilesTek intros slew of HDMI cables and devices
Got a need for a few new pieces of HDMI equipment, do you? Fret not, as MilesTek most definitely has you covered. The outfit has just revealed a new line of long-distance and standard-length commercial-grade HDMI 1.3b cabling, and in case you're after a bit more than just wires, it's also introducing distribution amplifiers, switchers and "a variety of device / cable kits that combine an amplifier or switcher with several HDMI cables." The whole lot is available as we speak, though you'll have to do a bit of investigation to find out pricing information.

Looking for an HDMI 1.3 distribution amp that won't completely shatter the budget? Enter Octava's 3x4 HDMI Switch + Splitter Distribution Amplifier, which includes support for full 1080p resolutions and enables HDMI switching for three inputs while outputting to (up to) four displays. You'll also find a Toslink optical audio output, an RS-232 control port, a remote bundled in and an external IR jack for extending the reach. Best of all, the unit checks in at just $349, and it's available to ship right now to most any corner of the globe.
Gefen unloads two new component video distribution amplifiers
Shortly after dishing out a v1.3-compliant 1:10 HDMI distribution amplifier and 1:5 HDMI splitter, Gefen is hitting us up with two new signal pushers for the component lovers in the house. The 1:4 Component/Audio CAT-5 Distribution Amplifier and the 1:8 Component/Audio CAT-5 Distribution Amplifier each enable component video to be delivered to a multitude of displays (four for the first, eight for the second); additionally, each box is equipped with RCA, S/PDIF and Toslink optical audio jacks. The duo promises to carry both audio and 1080p video signals over CAT5 cables to displays some 1,000 feet away, and while they'll run you $799 and $1,499, respectively, receivers are sold separately at $200 a pop.
Gefen intros v1.3-compliant 1:10 HDMI Distribution Amplifier and 1:5 HDMI Splitter
If you think you've seen these wares before, simmer down. Gefen has most certainly cranked out a 1:10 HDMI Distribution Amplifier in the past, but its latest iteration sports a slightly updated design and includes full support of HDMI v1.3. As expected, the aforementioned HDCP-compliant, rack-mountable device allows a single HDMI source to be distributed to 10 different displays, and the 1:5 HDMI 1.3 Splitter possesses the same HDCP certification and aims to dish out a sole HDMI source to half as many outputs. Gefen goes on to mention that things work best when the source and destination displays share matching resolutions, and while we're not given a definitive ship date on either, they can be pre-ordered now from the firm's website for $749 and $499, respectively.
