Domino's is testing cashless stores, with customers only being able to use their card, contactless payments (like ApplePay or Android Pay), PayPal and Instagift cards to buy their pizzas both in store and when they have orders delivered. The trial is running at five locations in Australia.

Who doesn't love a good, over-the-top marketing stunt? Recently we've seen a lot of those, including Pizza Hut's Pizza Parka, a coat made out of the same insulating materials as its delivery pouches. Because why not? That ridiculous product from Pizza Hut shouldn't come as a surprise. After all, this is the same company that made shoes that can order a pie for you. But Pizza Hut isn't the only one trying to get creative using technology to promote its brand.

Domino's already has a slew of ways for you to tell the company you'd like a pizza. There's the Easy Order button, the emoji tweet, the Echo method -- heck you can even do it directly through an Apple Watch or your Xbox One. But all those require you to put in a modicum of actual effort *shudder*. That's why Domino's rolled out its "no touch" ordering app on Wednesday.

Domino's Pizza revealed Wednesday that its customers will be able to order a pie through their Amazon Echo and track the order from oven to doorstep without ever leaving the couch. To do so, you'll need to enable the Domino's skill within your Alexa app and by linking your Echo account with your Domino's Pizza Profile. Once the accounts are paired, you can tell Alexa to either reorder the last pizza you got or ask for your designated "Easy Order" pie. To track the progress of your pizza's preparation, just enter the phone number on the order and Alexa will tell you how it's coming along.

If you're a Domino's Pizza addict, there's now a faster way to get some fresh slices hurtling towards your front door. The company has updated its Apple Watch app with "Easy Order," a feature that lets you set up a specific basket and then, when hunger strikes, order it again with a single tap. In the past that's been facilitated through the Domino's phone app and a physical button, but now it's available on the wrist too. If you're new to the whole experience, you'll need to visit the website first to set up your order. Once that's done, however, you should never have to do it again, unless you want to change your preferred pizzas or delivery address. As before, you can also use the Domino's Apple Watch app to track the status of your order. Useful if you're nursing a hangover and can't remember where you left your iPhone the night before.

  • Domino's built a pizza delivery car with its own oven

You have to sympathize with pizza delivery drivers. They're rarely driving more than an everyday car (often their own), which won't do much to help them get a pizza to your door on time. Clearly, Domino's Pizza feels their pain. The food giant has unveiled the DXP (Delivery ExPert), a heavily modified Chevy Spark that's focused on pie transport. The star attraction is an outward-facing oven in the back -- drivers can grab your piping-hot pizza without skipping a beat. There's also storage space for a whopping 80 pizzas (office party, anyone?), an out-for-delivery light and a puddle light to prevent any rude surprises when stepping outside.

Ordering your go-to Domino's pizza just got a little easier -- yes, even more so than using your XBox One or Pebble smartwatch. The restaurant chain announced Tuesday that its customers will soon be able to order their preferred pie with nary more than a tweet and an emoji. No, seriously. First you'll need to have an online Domino's Pizza Profile and designate an "Easy Order" pizza. Next, add your Twitter handle to your account and simply tweet #EasyOrder to @Dominos. Or, if that's too many keystrokes for you liking, simply insert the pizza emoji into your tweet instead. Either way, you'll soon get a direct message confirming the order and a piping-hot pizza shortly thereafter. You can give #EasyOrder a whirl today, though unfortunately the emoji method won't to be available until next Wednesday, May 20th.

Ever wish you could (safely) order pizza while driving home? You'll have that chance soon. Ford has just announced Sync AppLink support in five apps that could prove handy for many commuters, including Domino's Pizza. An upcoming version of the eatery's software will let you dictate orders without taking your hands off the wheel. New editions of Parkopedia and Parkmobile, meanwhile, will respectively help you find and pay for parking. ADT's Pulse app will verify that your house is safe and sound, and an update to HABU later this month will send mood-setting tunes to the car stereo. It's not clear just when all of the new apps will be AppLink-ready, but it shouldn't be long before you're asking for an extra-large Pacific Veggie while you're stuck in traffic.

If the idea of pinching, zooming and tapping on your iPad is far less appealing than kneading, sprinkling and cutting, then the Domino's Pizza Hero iPad app may just be right up your alley. Putting aspiring pizza makers to the test, the game challenges players to assemble a pie as quickly as possible for points. Once you've passed levels one through five, affectionately nicknamed "Pizza School," other players will get a chance to rate your performance -- ultimately making or breaking your pizza career. If concocting virtual pies was enough to make you hungry, fear not famished souls as the app let's you order the real deal direct from your iPad -- now that's amore. • Pizza app wars heat up as Domino's brings game to iOS

Pizza. It's pretty popular for the most part, so really it was just a question of time before it came to the iPad. While Pizza Hut was first with an iPad app, Domino's is the first with a game. Domino's Pizza Hero is that game, and like most rhythm type games, it's quite a bit of fun. This app has some bonuses though: You can progress through levels and learn the magic of pizza creation, and when you have it all figured out, you can walk through the process of building the pizza of your dreams, and then place an order through the app for that very pizza. It's a lot of fun, and the ordering process looks pretty straightforward. My only real complaint is that the feedback in the app as you complete levels is sometimes contradictory. "Great job with the sauce!" "Your sauce skills need work." Who do I believe? Other than that I really enjoyed the app, and since it's all Game Center integrated, you can even throw down with the usual game playing suspects. Perhaps the loser of the competition has to foot the bill for the winner's custom pizzas? I enjoyed it and while there is very clear branding, it wasn't really overwhelming while playing the games themselves. Turns out with my index finger I'm a pizza slicing machine! Who knew? It's a free app, so check it out, especially this coming weekend when you've reached your limit of turkey leftovers.

  • US TiVo users pick up Domino's Pizza ordering / tracking abilities

Clearly catering towards the wants, nay, needs of the average American couch potato is TiVo and Domino's Pizza, which have collaborated in order to bring on-sofa pizza ordering to broadband-connected TiVo subscribers. If you'll recall, this service was actually announced for Australia earlier this month, but users in the US of A get the first chance to indulge. 'Course, this is far from the first unorthodox method of ordering pizza, and the lack of a scheduled delivery option is certainly a weak point, but this widget does reveal that all sorts of differentiating applications could eventually find their way to a TiVo box near you. Feel free to give it a spin tonight, but don't blame us if that backlit remote gets dimmed from grease seeping into the crevices.[Via ZatzNotFunny]
