Doom Eternal's first expansion arrives on October 20th
The Ancient Gods: Part One, the first campaign expansion for Doom Eternal comes out on October 20th. Developer id Software shared a full trailer showing off the upcoming DLC during Gamescon 2020 earlier today. The trailer shows Doomguy up to his usual hijinks, taking out demons with Eternal's fun arsenal of weapons, including the Super Shotgun and Meat Hook.

'Doom Eternal' classic mode recreates the original game's aesthetics
One of the new modes called Classic turns Eternal into a pixelated game with a 256 color palette that looks like the original Doom for PC. You can enable them in video settings like Classic Mode if you like 2016 Doom’s aesthetics. There’s also a Hack to the Future II event coming soon, which lets you unlock Doom’s skeleton Revenant monster collectibles.
id Software is removing Doom Eternal's controversial PC anti-cheat system
The company also clarified that the anti-cheat system isn’t causing performance and stability issues like some people are saying. While the next update will remove Doom Eternal’s anti-cheat system on PC, id still hasn’t given up on keeping cheaters out.
