This one is, of course, the sequel to the Don Bluth classic, Dragon's Lair, now presented on the small iOS screen in all of its (let's be honest, somewhat aged) glory. Dragon's Lair 2 is subtitled Time Warp, and sends Dirk the Daring off through time in the hopes of saving the fair Princess Daphne. Just like the first title, originally made popular on Laserdisc, this one offers branching paths that make up a pretty compelling adventure game, and just like the first iteration of the series on iOS, moves are made by pressing various virtual buttons on the screen. If you played the first Dragon's Lair and didn't get into it (like a fine wine, it does require a little appreciation for the age it was created in), you probably won't find much here to keep your interest. But if you look back on the Dragon's Lair series with fondness and have been waiting for the sequel to drop, well, here you go. Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp is now available on the App Store for US$2.99.

Gather up all your extra Classic Controllers and GameCube controllers. They are about to get seriously ruined, thanks to the arrival of Mario Party 2 on Virtual Console -- the first Nintendo-published Virtual Console game to arrive since June. If Nintendo 64 minigame collections aren't your thing, you can download Frobot on WiiWare, a top-down Zelda-style action game, with robots. And disco. DSiWare gets Dragon's Lair 2, almost a year to the day after the first Dragon's Lair hit the service ... and a month after Dragon's Lair arrived on DS cartridge.

You know that Dragon's Lair omnibus you've been working on? The one that details every single version of all the Dragon's Lair games? We're sure you thought it was finally finished and ready to send off to the publisher, but it looks like it's time for another addendum: According to the ESRB, Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp is headed to DSi. The first Dragon's Lair was brought to DSiWare by Digital Leisure last year, so it's likely the same will be the case for Dirk's second adventure. We know -- now you have to sit through months of approvals, edits and, of course, the costly resetting of the printing press, but you want the omnibus to be accurate, right? • A daring Dragon's Lair game collection

Syd Bolton, who runs the Personal Computer Museum in Brantford, Canada, really enjoys Dragon's Lair in all its many, many incarnations. Bolton owns almost every version of Dragon's Lair ever released, which is saying a lot considering that game has been ported more times over the last 30 years than a Carnival Cruise ship. However, he hasn't got them all, telling Joystiq that he's missing the mobile phone version from 2005 (because it wasn't available in his area) and the Amstrad CPC versions from the mid-'80s. The picture above contains 47 versions of the game and its sequels. Bolton mentions that the image doesn't contain the whole collection, as a few copies are in storage. We've listed every copy of the game featured in the picture after the break.
