WoW Moviewatch: This is Halloween
It's that time of year again! With Hallow's End starting today, it only seemed appropriate to pay homage to the holiday with a machinima that was actually a joint effort between two creators -- Drascier and KillerCookie. This is Halloween was actually put together last year, but it still has all the charm and flavor of the holiday, and features an instantly-familiar soundtrack. The visual effects are appealing, the costumes and characters are cool, and it's difficult to see where the two artists switched off in production -- Drascier and KillerCookie work really well together as a team here. I have to admit, though, after a week of looking at all the pretty new models, it's almost jarring to see the old ones again. I kind of want to see an updated version of this now! WoW Moviewatch: Precious Life and Seething Sorrow
I usually avoid videos with names like Precious Life and Seething Sorrow. It's not anything personal but they tend to be a little on the overwrought side. And while you might feel that's still the case with Drascier's new video, I hope you'll agree that this production is gorgeous. It's chock full of some incredible animation, a dolorous and thoughtful tone, and tells the story of a pair of sisters who could probably use some mediation. WoW Moviewatch: Listen to Your Heart
Drascier actually has a lot of great WoW music videos, all using interesting and fun pop music from the last decade or so. I happened to choose Listen to Your Heart because it was originally by Roxette, and I'm a die-hard child of the '80s. Listen to Your Heart isn't the best video from Drascier's selection in terms of animation, but I couldn't resist the allure of two gnomes in love. For someone who doesn't get a lot of play in the machinima scene, Drascier's video show a lot of sophisitication and know-how. All of the videos are fun, in one way or another.
