In a thorough interview with GamePro, Dylan Jobe talked about the hard decision to make Warhawk a multiplayer-only title, and things learned from the beta. A fascinating read, to be sure, and we hope you take a chance to check out GamePro's complete interview. One thing that stood out to us was Incognito's plans for downloadable content. "It's not content that we cut to hold back and later jam down the throats of players," he says. "What we do with our downloadable content is to look at the feedback from players and develop content that supplements their experience, not just rehashes stuff that we perhaps descoped previously."The beta revealed many things that the team wants to add to the game, but simply hasn't found the time. "We were able to collect a lot of feedback from the beta. There were a lot of really great ideas that it was to late to incorporate, but we ear marked to perhaps come back to it and put it in future." Additional brainstorming ideas will undoubtedly come back from fans and players like you. "We also have a team that will scour all of the forums for Warhawk feedback on Warhawk.com so that we can make sure that our first outing of downloadable content matches what players want." Of course, we think players want to know: when will downloadable content arrive ... and how much will it cost?

Why, a huge amount of official Warhawk dedicated servers -- of course! In the most recent post at the official PlayStation.Blog, the game director of Warhawk, Dylan Jobe, posted pictures of their Ranked Servers data center and talked about online/server details for their upcoming Sixaxis-friendly title.According to Dylan, they have PS3 clusters like the one above scattered all over the world to make sure you you have access to a fast, latency free server -- no matter where you live. Also, since you can host your own servers, even if you don't find an official server you like, it shouldn't be hard to find a player server that fits what you're looking for. Players can create their own dedicated Warhawk servers for up to 32 players at once, but they won't be able to play on their PS3 while the server is running (to longtime PC gamers, this is nothing new). Players can also create their own servers that they can play in for up to 24 players at once, offering a ton of flexibility for clans and hardcore players. Between ecstatic previews, an accessible price point and strong server support, Warhawk is looking more and more like it could be a major hit. Only three more weeks until the Game Drought of Summer is over![Thanks everybody!]

At the Sony blogger's event, Warhawk's Dylan Jobe admitted that the PlayStation Network game doesn't deserve "to be a full priced game." Unfortunately, he admits, it's not his job to set the pricing. The team wanted to make a good product, but there were a few employees frustrated that the game was becoming a Network-only game. There's a stigma, he noted, and one disgruntled employee left the team due to the misconception that downloadable games are somehow lesser experiences."Crap product will sell like crap, whether or not it's on a shelf or not," Dylan admitted. He thinks that the future of Sony's Network offerings is exciting, especially because it "transcends arcade rehashes." These are "high quality titles" that will allow the company to "earn the player's trust back."Going forward, Sony admits that they're trying to get a "downloadable demo for every title." There is no Warhawk demo in the works now, but the possibility of offering a public beta for trial purpose is still being discussed.
