Were you in the mood to virtually grapple with Jason "Mayhem" Miller, and disappointed that he wasn't in the UFC game? You're in luck -- EA Sports MMA will be available in limited demo form on September 28 for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. The demo features Miller against fellow middleweight Jake Shields, along with current Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem against former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley, with both matches overseen by the great Big John McCarthy. The demo will also have a quick tutorial and information on the game's other modes (including that EA Sports Live Broadcast service), and "sharing the demo with friends," EA says, will unlock "Classic" Randy Couture as a playable character in the full game. Just three short weeks from now, you'll throw down in the Octag -- whoops, we mean ring or cage (sorry Dana!). In the meantime, let these screenshots soothe your fightin' rage. %Gallery-101578%

  • EA: Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, Crysis 2 before March 2011

During EA's half-hour investor callstravaganza yesterday, CEO John Riccitiello unleashed a flurry of game titles set to be released in the company's "FIscal 2011." For EA, that falls anywhere between April 1, 2010 and March 30, 2011 -- a window that now holds the release of "a great new version of Medal of Honor, a revitalized Need for Speed, Sims on console, FIFA in a World Cup year, an innovative and new take on Madden, Dead Space 2, Crysis at full margins, a new MMA game, and many others." Considering this laundry list of games is getting little more than a 12-month window for release, we're taking the logical next step and throwing darts at images of the games on our cork-board calendar. According to our impeccable aim... everything is coming out in November. Not helpful! [Via Eurogamer]

EA just announced a new EA Sports game (most likely a new EA Sports series, because, you know, EA Sports): EA Sports MMA. The company didn't announce any platforms, but we assume that not only will the game feature multiple fighting techniques, but will also release on multiple consoles. Did you see what we did there? Related the content of the game to the platforms? No?[Update: the press release confirms this as coming out in 2010 on PS3 and Xbox 360!]
