Spring has officially sprung, and aside from going outside and enjoying the greenery, it's also time to savor the springtime events in your favorite MMOs. RuneScape is throwing an Easter bash called Holly and Hawthorn, and the event is based around the annual baton pass between the Queen of Snow and the Queen of Sunrise. Unfortunately, someone has stolen this year's baton, and players will need to commune with the elements in order to avoid becoming trapped in an eternal winter. There's also a bit of tree-chopping to be done, and all participants will receive exclusive holiday items. Finally, RuneScape community managers will be running competitive events from April 22nd through April 25th, and the player who chops down the most holly and hawthorn trees will win a prize pack full of RuneScape swag. Head to the official website for all the details.

  • Final Fantasy XIV egging players on with a lore-filled new holiday event

Patch 1.17 is awash in rumors. The world of Eorzea is filled with rumors of returning Archons, war with the Empire, the formation of the Grand Companies, and unsettling aggression from wildlife. Amidst all of the chaos, Final Fantasy XIV players are going to see the first pass of the new Easter-themed holiday, which ties directly into the aforementioned rumors -- the eggs being distributed across Eorzea are the work of one woman who is absolutely certain that the Archons are returning, and she's spreading the word through decorated avian embryos. After a vision of the Archons descending from the sky on the back of colored eggs, Jihli Aliapoh took it upon herself to preach gospel and distribute painted eggs to help spread awareness. Of course, there are rumors that she's handing out the eggs for more material purposes... but for players, it means a chance to get holiday-themed hats, and isn't that the important part? Final Fantasy XIV players should read the full lore rundown and start taking part in the egg festivities, which run until May 9th.

  • Final Fantasy XI's annual egg hunt returning for another year

Having returned from its temporary shutdown, Final Fantasy XI is ready to herald the spring with a time-honored event. The newest incarnation of the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza is due to hit the live servers on April 12th, and as always the announcement comes fresh with a bit of fictional flavor. If you haven't been sufficiently creeped out by the ubiquitous and somewhat domineering moogles yet... well, the story of what it's like preparing eggs for the event will probably push you over the edge, even though it's meant to just be amusing. As always, the celebration allows players to collect letter-emblazoned eggs, with the overarching goal to assemble a number of meaningful letter combinations. Each player must start by assembling the first three letters of his or her character's name... but there are many more combinations that can be unlocked, forcing enterprising players to trade in new eggs to the festival moogle in hopes of more letter-branded eggs. Final Fantasy XI players are likely quite familiar with the mechanics by this time, but who can resist alphabetic egg hunts?

Sure, while some people's real life Spring Breaks have since passed, that doesn't mean you can't celebrate elsewhere. At least, that's the stance Ndoors Interactive's WonderKing is taking, as the game is holding several in-game Spring Break events now through April 7th. If you're a WonderKing player, the big three events to check out are an Easter Day party, the chance to win fashion items and a big Spring Break-style party. Granted, we expect any of you going in will probably just party most of the time. At least, that's what we'd do... Check out the full, official list of events after the break.

Old school 2-D MMO Land of Magic has just recently made the jump from Korean only to Korean and English, and they're celebrating with two awesome bonuses -- double experience and double item drop rates!Knowing for lightning fast leveling and a never ending amount of things to do, Land of Magic is an older MMO that has graphics in the vein of Ultima Online. Players can level their way all the way up to level 400 and beyond by using a creative "rebirth" system. This allows players to level as one profession, then switch over to a new profession and keep some of the abilities of their old one. In addition, each time you rebirth your character back down to level 1, the maximum level you can achieve increases by 2. Thus, if you rebirth once, your new maximum level is 402. Rebirthing also opens up new professions, such as the Necromancer and Demon King.Should you truly have tons of time on your hands, characters who can rebirth all the way to level 900 get to become demi-gods. Literally, a demi-god.Their celebration will be continuing until May 3rd and the game is free to play, so if you should have some extra time on your hands (or lots of time on your hands) go on over and see what's up with this new Korean MMO.

  • Noblegarden removed from in-game calendar

Thanks to the astute eyes of reader Jadissa, we can report that Noblegarden is no longer present on the in-game calendar. This is likely a clear indicator that the in-game world event is getting pushed back. Based on what we know already (that it will be part of other achievements), it should not be assumed that the event was removed. We've spoke about the upcoming changes to Noblegarden before: it might get delayed, and it will be part of the overall world event achievement What a Long, Strange Trip. There has been no indication from Blizzard when exactly it will start up, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go live towards the end of the month. We'll have to wait and see when this start date is, and we'll be sure to announce it here on WoW Insider as soon as we know. This is not an April Fools joke.
