What does it take to be a top League of Legends player? A lot of people sell themselves short, saying, "I could never be as good as HotshotGG," but I think that's a falsehood. Don't mistake me, I do think that most of the current LoL pros (including Hotshot) are prodigal. I do think that they got to where they are partially due to natural talent. I've watched a lot of streams and interviews and listened to pros talk about their training schedules, and I can honestly say that while they do practice a lot, most of them don't practice enough. But no amount of talent can replace the other skills you'll need. Even if Pobelter has a natural ability to dominate LoL matches, he has refined that talent through hard work. If you practice the skills here dilligently, you can get in the top levels of the solo-duo ranked ladder and you can get picked up by a pro team.

  • The Daily Grind: What rewards aren't worth the effort?

A gauntlet of fiendish bosses. Horrible traps and puzzles solved in an instanced format, with no chance for other parties to help you. A collection of dangerous encounters and perilous chances with your characters, in which a single death would mean undoing hours of work. All of that work for... a cosmetic helm? While Final Fantasy XI has some brutally difficult bosses, they drop powerful rewards. But even then, sometimes you might look at the rewards they drop versus the slightly weaker rewards available elsewhere and decide that the effort is just too much. It's not that the rewards are bad; it's that the rewards don't match up to the strategy and careful play required to have a chance. So when have you run into rewards that don't feel like they're worth the effort it would take to obtain them? Is it a matter of too much time or too much challenge for too little benefit? Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. • Breakfast Topic: It's lonely at the top

This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW.com. Maybe some of you will understand where I'm coming from. I play a fury warrior, my favorite class that fits my playstyle in every way. I like to think of myself as a raging berserker painted in woad and the blood of my enemies. I'm a whirlwind of doom that will fight 'til his last dying breath against insurmountable odds. But here is the problem that I'm facing: I'm number one in damage done and damage per second on nearly every fight. Now you may be thinking to yourself, "What's your problem? Doesn't that just mean you're doing your job?" Yes, it does -- but it also means that my raiding team isn't doing its job as well as myself. Now don't get me wrong, I've been with this team since I knew what end of the axe to even hold, and I consider all of them to be my friends. But I put in my time, got my gear, did my research and started topping the charts by an alarming amount. I thought that once I would get to this level of the game, I would have to struggle to keep my place among the elite, but that just isn't so. I don't see any of my fellow damage-dealers putting in the same effort that I'm putting in.
