One Galaxy S II review not enough for you? Hey, we understand, a dual-core phone deserves at least two goes through the Engadget test chambers. Today marks the publication of our Engadget Spanish analysis, which, among other things, compares the GSII against its forebear, the Galaxy S, at the subpixel level. Yes, we've got video capturing the improvement Samsung has made in its new Real-Stripe (RGB) pixel arrangement on the Galaxy S II's Super AMOLED Plus display over the older, less awesome PenTile RGBG layout of the Plus-deprived Super AMOLED panel. You can see it after the break or dive into the source link for a more comprehensive comparison. Non-Spanish speakers will want to jump to the 1:40 mark in the vid for all the microscopic action. %Gallery-124010%

Our friend Drita at Engadget Spanish was lucky enough to spend some extended moments with HTC's just announced HD2 -- also known as the Leo. It's got exactly the same specs we just heard about: a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive display, a 1GHz MSM8250 Snapdragon processor, integrated FM radio, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. They found this Windows Mobile 6.5 baby to be elegant and light feeling in the hand, the touchscreen to be responsive and quick, and HTC's Sense UI beautiful. The phone's also quite snappy, and we have to say we can't wait to get our hands on one ourselves. As far as availability goes -- well, we know it's going to run €649 and it will be available in November on Vodaphone in Spain (we've also heard it's headed to T-Mobile UK), with additional carriers following after December. Check out the gallery, and head over to Engadget Spanish for a fuller hands-on experience. [Via Engadget Spanish] %Gallery-74700%%Gallery-74808%

Interesting fact about Berlin: all the buildings here look like spaceships! Also, the city plays host to the IFA tradeshow each year, a sprawling landscape of gadget treasure, and we're here to pick up where we left off last year. Today we've got a Sony press conference to look forward to, and tomorrow we'll be hit by a tidal wave of announcements from the rest of the industry -- or at least that's the plan. We'll also be hitting up the show floor soon enough with our pals from Engadget Spanish and Engadget German, the latter of which has been dubbed the official blog of the show! Engadget German will also be hosting a reader meetup on Saturday at the convention center, so stand by for more information on that. Naturally, all of this will take place within massive buildings that look like spaceships.

Our amigos over at Engadget Spanish have managed to get their hands on ASUS' O!Play HDP-R1 media player and they've taken it for a spin. The player, which supports a HD video playback in a multitude of codecs, including MPEG1/2/4, H.264, VC-1, and RM/RMVB in a multitude of packages including .mp4, .mov, .avi, .divx, and .mkv (and that's not an exhaustive list by any means). There is still no word on pricing or release date in the US, but the one Engadget Spanish laid hands on seemed to be for sale in Taiwan for around €119, or about $169. There are a few more shots after the break -- but hit the read link for a full gallery.[Via Engadget Spanish]

Never ones to shy away from shameless self promotion, or to hold back on birthday extravagances, we're proud to present a fresh collection of takes on the Engadget logo created by readers of the newly 1-year-old Engadget Spanish for their birthday contest. The first and second place winners received a PEBL and a SanDisk Sansa respectively, but every submission upholds the high standards of mad-Engadget-love we've come to expect from our own reader contests. Check the read link for the rest of the pics, alongside snarky commentary in a language we can barely order take-out in.

Wow, time really flies. Just a little over a year ago we had a bun in the oven called Engadget Spanish, and now it's all grown up and celebrating its first birthday. Next thing you know it's gonna be thiiis big and off to college, married, and with little Engadget spinoffs blogs of its own, and we'll just br here still blogging in English with our empty nest syndrome, hopefully collecting blogger social security. Oh, by the way, we hear they're giving something away -- but we won't spoil the surprise. Feliz cumpleaños Engadget Español!
