Sony launches EX300, EX500, and EX700 Bravia TVs in Japan
Your HDTV comparison list just got a little longer, with Sony announcing a big long line of new Bravia LCDs of all shapes and sizes. Lowest end is the EX300, with 22-, 26-, and 32-inch models that all sport 1,366 x 768 resolutions, a suite of silly colors (white, pink, brown, and black), and prices ranging from ¥70,000 - ¥90,000 ($770 - $990). The EX500 is a ¥130,000 ($1,400) 40-inch, 120Hz, 1080p model, while the EX700 models range from 32- to 52-inches and will set you back between ¥120,000 ($1,300) and ¥300,000 ($3,300). The extra money nets you LED backlighting, luscious thinness (22mm), and networkability, which means YouTube and DLNA streamability, plus widgets and all sorts of other goodies. All are scheduled to hit Japan on February 25, and all will surely make their way across the pond eventually -- except maybe that pink one. %Gallery-83503%
MSI ships $999 13.3-inch EX300 laptop
If MSI's suite of Winds are just too cramped for your gorilla-sized hands, maybe the marginally larger EX300 will do the trick. The 13.3-inch laptop tips the scales at 4.5-pounds and includes a Core 2 Duo P7350 CPU, ATI's 256MB Mobility Radeon HD3450 GPU, WiFi / Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 3-in-1 card reader and a 2.0-megapixel webcam. MSI rolls out EX300, EX400 laptops
While it may seem like MSI has nothing but the Wind on its mind these days, the company is, in fact, still in the general laptop business, and its just let loose a pair of decidedly ordinary new models to prove it. From the looks of it, the "athletic and fashionable" EX300 (pictured above) is the slightly more interesting of the pair, with it sporting a 13.3-inch WXGA display, an unspecified Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3450 graphics, a max 320GB hard drive, up to 4GB of RAM, and a Blu-ray drive, among other standard fare. The EX400, on the other hand, opts for a slightly less portable 14.1-inch display and some more traditional styling, along with some virtually identical specs to its more "athletic" counterpart.
