Richard Mitchell06.01.2009Xbox 360 Platinum Hits are numerous, cheap, rebranded
This one's just about as confusing as it gets, folks, but here goes nothing. Microsoft is repackaging eight of its titles under a new moniker: "Greatness is Earned." Though these titles still fall into the Platinum Hits category (and as such, are priced at $19.99 and up), a number of them are receiving the treatment for the first time. And this is where things get confusing: We've seen the "Greatness is Earned" logo before, nearly a month ago now, on the repackaged Gears of War (Platinum Hits edition, mind you) seen above. At the time, Microsoft wouldn't comment on the images.Considering Viva Piñata and EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 are among them, we're doubting (and hoping) they won't all get the dark and brooding look. We've listed all eight titles after the break in for your perusal. We'd also like to point out that, while snooping around the Microsoft press site for images of these games, we noticed Halo 3 "Classics" in the "Upcoming Games" category -- the same note found next to all other Platinum Hits games. Interesting, hmm?Update: We've replaced the image above with shots of the new "Greatness is Earned" pack shots of Gears of War, Forza 2 and Mass Effect. For giant shots, peep the gallery below!%Gallery-63475%
Ben Gilbert05.14.2009Snag Forza 2's Major Nelson Mustang
It's been a long time since we've discussed them, but we've always had a thing for the custom cars found in Forza Motorsport 2. Today, the official Turn 10 Studios blog posted some images of the Major Nelson Signature Edition Saleen Mustang. As you can see, it's got Major's Avatar mug plastered all over it, and the post notes that it was tuned by the Forza community group NBT.But how do you get one, you ask. That's easy, just head over to Turn 10's blog post, log in with the Live ID linked to your Gamertag and leave a comment. Now, the next time Major Nelson announces an XBLA price, you can take your anger out on the car and leave the poor man alone.
Richard Mitchell04.23.2009MS announces new Platinum Hits ... for Singapore
A tipster informs us that Microsoft has announced a new batch of Platinum Hits for Singapore. The new titles include Project Gotham Racing 4, Forza Motorsport 2, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, Halo 3 and Lost Odyssey. The new hits all appear to sport the new packaging that was spotted last week. All the games, incidentally, are priced at SGD $39.90 (USD $26).It's worth noting that all of these games, aside from Forza 2, have yet to become Platinum Hits in North America. Granted, each region has different titles in the value range, but we'd say it's a safe bet that at least PGR4 and Halo 3 should make the cut on this side of the pond. Hopefully the redesigned packaging is a sign that Microsoft will announce new titles soon. Stay tuned.[Thanks, Cylus]
Richard Mitchell04.20.2009Forza Motorsport 2 experts drift into gear
Only a few people can claim to be experts at any game. In the world of Forza Motorsport 2, Project Blackjack are experts. One year in the making, The Rising Storm showcases some of the most incredible precision drifting we've ever seen in any game. The team of twelve gamers from around the world compiled the nearly 10 minute montage in hopes to showcase what they call, "The Art of Drifting." We think of it as, "The Art of Insane Crap We'll Never Come Close To Doing."[Thanks, JHD]

Dustin Burg09.05.2008Nintendo dev leaves company, heads to Microsoft
For those of you who keep track of developers and programmers like children keep track of baseball cards, this bit of news is going to be old hat to you. For the rest of the Nintendo loyal, prepare to light some torches and sharpen some pitchforks, because longtime programmer Colin Reed has bailed on Nintendo and taken up a position at Microsoft.Reed was with Nintendo for 11 years, working on such titles as Metroid Prime: Hunters and Pikmin. He now joins Microsoft's Turn-10, an internal studio that is responsible for the Forza Motorsport line-up of games.
David Hinkle05.08.2008Forza 2 shifts a retail gear to $29
Have yet to pickup Forza Motorsport 2 simply because your video game allowance has been in the red for the past year? If so, we have good news, because Microsoft just announced that the retail price for Forza 2 has dropped to a rather nice $29.99 in the U.S. Heck, for that price, you may even want to throw in the fire-starting wireless racing wheel as well. But that'd probably put your gaming budget further into the red ... oh well, you only live once. Race on fanboys, race on!
Dustin Burg04.13.2008Forza 2 March Car Pack is ready for download
Just an informative reminder to our Forza Motorsport 2 racing fanboys (though, we doubt one is really needed), the March Car Pack is available for download off the Xbox Live Marketplace right this very moment. As you probably know, The March Car Pack costs a medium 400 Microsoft points and includes thirteen new cars for your racing pleasure. And since we know how much Forza 2 fanboys love their vehicles, we've added new car pack photos into their own gallery below for you to gush over. Thank us later. If you have an extra 400 points laying around, we advise supporting Turn 10 and all the hard work they've put into Forza 2 and its abundant DLC. Happy downloading race fans!%Gallery-18568%
Dustin Burg03.19.2008Forza 2 March Car Pack details and events

Dustin Burg03.17.2008Forza 2 March Car Pack DLC releases next Wed
Turn 10 has been busy as a beaver as of late, releasing new vehicle packs and new racetracks for Forza Motorsport 2 over the past few months. And, lucky for us, March will be one of those grand Forza 2 DLC months with the announcement of the upcoming March Car Pack.Odd thing about this new March Car Pack is that we have yet to hear the announcement come from Turn 10 or Microsoft's mouths, as we learned of its existence from an exclusive DLC trailer (embedded above) that was released last night. So that means we don't have too many details pertaining to its cost or what's exactly included in the pack, though fans in the Forza 2 forums pretty much nailed down which new vehicles the DLC will offer. What we do know is that the Forza 2 March Car Pack will come packed with brand new rides and be released next Wednesday, March 19th. So hold tight, plant your feet firmly on the ground and hope that Turn 10 is generous in their pricing (ahem, free?)
Dustin Burg03.15.2008Microsoft's Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel now $99
Time's running out, folks, and if you've got an Xbox 360 gamer in your life that you've vowed to spend a C-note on (and nothing more, tax notwithstanding), here's a bright idea. Microsoft has just cut the price of its Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel by $30 to a manageable $99, and it also comes bundled with a driver disc and a demo of Forza Motorsport 2. So, what are you waitin' on? No, really, what's the holdup?
Darren Murph12.20.2007Video: Preview Forza 2's December Car Pack
With Forza Motorsport 2's upcoming downloadable content headed our way this Friday, Turn 10 has just released a new trailer to build upon the anticipation. The trailer features some of the new cars that'll be available in Friday's release of the December Car Pack and Road America DLC. We're still waiting on a complete list cars that outlines what will be included in the Car Pack and still are in the dark about Road America, so you'll have to be detective-like and gather as much information as you can from the trailer. Enjoy the teaser now and know that tomorrow all Forza 2 DLC details will be revealed.[Via Turn 10 Blog, Thanks Shortt Sirket]
Dustin Burg12.06.2007Forza 2 DLC brings new track and cars on Friday
In the latest Pit Pass report, developer Turn 10 revealed that this Friday, December 7th they'll be releasing a new set of Forza Motorsport 2 downloadable content. They're keeping quiet about specifics, but we do know that the new DLC will feature eleven new cars and one race track that's a remake of an old Forza favorite (and it's not Fujimi Kaido). All in all, you'll be able to grab the new cars for 400 Microsoft points, the track at 100 points or both for 500 points (addition FTW!) Turn 10 promises more DLC details sometime midweek ... so start waiting.
Dustin Burg12.03.2007Download Forza 2's Motegi Track Pack
We mentioned the new content a few days back and again last night, but we think it deserves another post today seeing that it just hit the Marketplace this morning (super justified). The newly price reduced Forza Motorsport 2 Fontegi Track Pack featuring Japan's famous Twin Ring Motegi race track is available for download at a 400 Microsoft point price. The new track includes four separate racing routes (including three off road and one highway) and is available to all Xbox Live regions. If you have Forza 2 and were contemplating purchasing the new track, then we think you should back Turn 10 and not feel guilty about shelling out 400 points. They are what we call "good peeps".
Dustin Burg10.26.2007Turn 10 hears community, drops Forza 2 DLC price
We always knew the developers over at Turn 10 were awesome folks, but we never knew they were this awesome. After announcing tomorrow's release of a new 600 Microsoft point downloadable Twin Ring Motegi race track for Forza Motorsport 2, Turn 10 has since changed their mind and is dropping the price before the content even becomes available. Posting on the official Forza 2 forums, community manager chespace mentioned the price change and says that he was able to convince the marketing folks to drop the price to 400 points due to the Forza 2 community's feedback. Can you believe it? A developer actually listening to their community and lowering content price before it gets released. Mad props to you Turn 10 and now we can't help but recommend tomorrow's new 400 Microsoft point DLC. High five guys, high five.[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]
Dustin Burg10.25.2007New Forza 2 racing turf releasing this Friday [update]
Update: Gamespot revealed that the new track is Twin Ring Motegi and will cost a painful 600 Microsoft points (ouch!). Screenshots, Q&A and video available here.Mentioned in their latest Pitpass Report, developer Turn 10 confirmed that this Friday, October 26th a new Forza Motorsport 2 race track will be ready for download off of the XBLM (pending any Microsoft cert delays). We believe that the new track will be free, but not much is known about it as no name or screenshots have release. But Turn 10 did hint that today one lucky website will be exclusively revealing all the track's details. So, we'll keep one eye on the web, one eye on the Marketplace and a third borrowed eye on the road, because we have new DLC coming to Forza 2.[Thanks, Tony]
Dustin Burg10.23.2007Holiday Xbox 360 bundles are official
It's not like we didn't see this offer headed down the pipeline, but now it's 100% official. This morning Microsoft sent out a press release announcing the release of the planned Xbox 360 holiday bundles. Starting sometime near the end of October, consumers will start seeing all new Xbox 360s and Xbox 360 Elites come bundled with both Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. This bundling of games will of course help with Microsoft's plans at world domination this holiday season and hopefully win over the hearts of Wii crazy mothers.Next up, the confirmation of the Xbox 360 Arcade which we say will be announced sometime next week. Place your bets.
