In terms of new software, Microsoft doesn't have much to offer Xbox One owners this holiday unless you want to play the fourth Forza in as many years. What it does have though, are a baker's dozen of games from the original Xbox. Some we already knew about like Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Xbox launch title Fuzion Frenzy, but there are a few surprises as well.

  • ESA and Microsoft collaborate, offer mediocre games for charity

Microsoft has teamed up with the Entertainment Software Association to offer a special three-pack of Xbox 360 games this holiday season. The pack, which retails for $29.99 USD, is comprised of Cars, Open Season, and Fuzion Frenzy 2 -- three E-rated games which are notable for tepid reviews across the board. It's definitely for a good cause, so we really shouldn't be complaining. All retail fees for the three-pack have been waived, meaning that the entirety of each $29.99 purchase goes directly to the ESA Foundation, which raises money to support groups like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Penny Arcade's Child's Play event, and HopeLab, the developers behind the serious game Re/Mission. The charity three-pack is currently available in retail stores, as well as on online sites such as Amazon.

TeamXbox received an early copy of Fuzion Frenzy 2 and decided to pull an all-nighter reviewing the party game goodness. They came away less than impressed, giving it an overall score of 6.6. But we have to ask, why? We have yet to get our hands on the game, but after looking at why they gave it such a horrible score it doesn't look justifiable. 6.5 in the gameplay category because they felt that "eighty percent of the included games are fun. The other twenty percent are just plain difficult to play and uninteresting" ... that equates to an 8.0 in our ratings book. We're thinking that if you liked the original Fuzion Frenzy then the sequel will more than satisfy your party game hunger. Make the jump for the review, but we're holding off our judgments until we get some hands on time.

Xbox 360 Achievements has uncovered the achievements for the upcoming Fuzion Frenzy 2, the sequel to the original Xbox party game. It's good news for Gamerscore whores, as the achievements look fairly simple and the point rewards are high. Seriously, there are only 2 achievements worth less than 50 points. There are 14 achievements in all. 2 of them are worth 25 points, 7 worth 50, 3 worth 100, and 2 worth 150. The achievements are rewarded for finishing the game as each character, winning online games, and unlocking minigames. It doesn't look like any of them are particularly difficult. Hell, only one of them requires you to win more than one online game. So, if you're a Gamerscore fanatic, Fuzion Frenzy looks like it could be your new best friend. That is unless we're completely wrong and the game is as tough as nails. Given that it's from the same people that gave the world Mario Party, we'd say the chances of that are slim.See also:Fuzion Frenzy 2 gameplay compilation 1Fuzion Frenzy 2 gameplay compilation 2

And so this is our second compilation of the numerous Fuzion Frenzy 2 videos we've tracked down. This time you don't get to listen to any Gwen (sorry Richard), but instead some depressing punk music. What can we say, it just works. We're also loving the new volcano mini game as well as the last clip with the rolling balls that end up running over your opponents. Smoosh 'em! There may be another video compilation released next week, but until then watch this one and check out compilation 1. We love you Fuzion Frenzy ... we love you!

Over the last couple of days we used our detective skills and unearthed some Fuzion Frenzy 2 gameplay videos. Of course nobody likes to watch a bunch of individual 15 second clips, so we figured why not compile all the videos into one nice bundle. We've mushed together five Fuzion Frenzy 2 videos and laid some sweet sounding hip-hop music to the compilation. And yes the music is none other than Gwen Stefani, so sit back, jam to the grooves and watch the multiplayer goodness. (Richard Mitchell ... this compilation is for you buddy!)

Bluntly put, the one genre that the Xbox 360's game library lacks is party games and as most of us know, Fuzion Frenzy 2 is Microsoft's answer to filling that deep void. Initially, Fuzion Frenzy 2 was set to release by the end of 2006, but that will not be happening because Planet Xbox 360 is reporting that the official release date for Fuzion Frenzy 2 will be January 30th, 2007. I'm such a Fuzion Frenzy fanboy ever since the original came out as a launch title for the Xbox, so if you haven't noticed I'm a little giddy with excitement for January to roll around. Oh joy!

If you know me, you know that I love a good party game and that's why I'm frothing at the mouth anticipating the release of Fuzion Frenzy 2. And good news, today TeamXbox got their hands on some new screenshots of Microsoft Game Studio's little party game. Be sure to check out the new screenshots after the jump. I played the demo when it was released on the XBLM a while back and it seemed to stay true to that the original Fuzion Frenzy. And how about the remake of Twisted System? It's totally extreme to the max dude!

Microsoft continues to assail us with images and descriptions of the games in Fuzion Frenzy 2. You may remember from our last batch of screens that FF2's games are divided among different planets, each with its own theme. This week's shots come from the water themed planet, Moisture, and the casino themed planet, Amuseth. The game pictured above is Over the Falls, which requires players to push the appropriate button to jump to the next log, or else get swept (you guessed it) over the falls. See more images and game descriptions after the break.

Microsoft released some new shots of Fuzion Frenzy 2 today. The game promises to whisk players off to exotic locations. This week's exotic locations are a planet called Blazer (wonder what the weather is like) and, um, Earth. Okay, Earth isn't exactly exotic, but nobody plays Fuzion Frenzy for the backdrops. At least no one that we know. And we know, like, everybody. No, you play it for the minigames. Today we bring you shots of 7 new games and descriptions of each. The game pictured above is "Amoeba Hunting" on Earth. Players must destroy amoeba with bombs while being careful not to get caught in the explosions themselves. Read on for more shots with descriptions and (hilarious) captions.

A quick round up of some of the other games at Microsoft's X06 party tonight: Tony Hawk's Project 8: The marquee new feature, already well-known, is the ability to slow down time to perform individualized tricks, using an analog stick to control each leg. The timing takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few minutes you'll be busting out some ridiculous combos -- and actually understanding what goes into the tricks to boot. Besides that the game seems like the same old Tony Hawk, though being able to choose the desired difficulty of each goal on the fly is a nice improvement. Lumines Live: The Xbox Live version of the PSP puzzler is actually significantly harder to control -- neither the analog stick nor the digital pad are precise enough for quick moves. Playing on a big screen is nice, but it actually makes it harder to take in the whole playfield with one quick glance. And the new mission mode seems intriguing, but there are only five levels available unless you purchase an additional mission pack. Yikes! Fuzion Frenzy 2: Only three mini-games were playable, though there were 43 listed in-game. My favorite was Sumo Paint, featuring rolling, bumping spheres battling for position and control of floor space. Seems like a decent enough drinking game with friends in the room, but not as appealing over Xbox Live. Look for more impressions from the X06 show floor soon.

Most of us know Fuzion Frenzy as that demo Xbox junkies play when they are sick of Halo but are too lazy to change discs. The full game was a fun but ultimately forgettable collection of minigames. Microsoft is giving the IP another go, and we got to check out one of the minigames from Fuzion Frenzy 2; it turns out, from what we played, the sequel is on track to becoming as forgettable as its predecessor. The demo, also available on Xbox Live, is a 4-on-4 battle for coins. With flame thrower in tow, you move around a frozen arena while melting ice towers and torching your opponents. The potential in the concept far exceeds its execution here. Aiming proved tricky: you must stop before igniting the air and once the flames start your ability to turn diminishes greatly. Is this demo -- a minigame that Microsoft deemed worthy to represent the rest of the gang -- indicative of another unimpressive collection? It's hard to say right now, as this is only one part of the final product. Based on this demo, however, we wouldn't expect anything great.

There are some of us (you know who you are) that have fond memories minigame festival that was Fuzion Frenzy. Others among us felt that it lacked the substance of, say, a Mario Party. It's interesting, then, that Microsoft has approached Hudson -- developer of the Mario Party series -- to create Fuzion Frenzy 2. We don't know if the game will feature an overall hub or board like the Mario Party titles, but we can at least be guaranteed that there will be tons of minigames. These screens show off some of the characters and what appears to be a casino themed world. Hopefully, Hudson has learned something from their recent effort and won't forget to include local multiplayer.Anyone looking forward to this one?

  • Fuzion Frenzy 2: more mini-games, but in space

Perhaps most remarkable for being an Xbox launch game that wasn't Halo, Fuzion Frenzy attempted to fill the oddly shaped party game niche way back in 2001. Ignoring the use of some of the most pathetic and annoying characters to ever grace the gaming universe ("Where is the competition?!"), the game was quite an amusing diversion, though one might argue that it's hard to go wrong with bopping people over the head and rolling about in giant hollow balls.Microsoft has officially announced the holiday arrival of Fuzion Frenzy 2 for the Xbox 360. Interestingly enough, this one's actually being developed by Hudson, a subsidiary of Konami (the first game was done by Blitz). Aside from oh-so-creatively shifting the 40 mini-games into space and across multiple planets, the new developer has seen fit to add full online functionality, allowing players to create custom tournaments and build up a rank that gives them some authority in picking which mini-games to play next. It isn't specifically mentioned, but you can probably count on purchasing and downloading extra activities months after you've grown tired of the original selection. That original selection had better feature Sumo and Twisted System, or we'll be so angry. You won't like us when [censored by the clichè police].
