First 4 Figures teases a Wind Waker Ganondorf statue
First 4 Figures, makers of highly detailed - and highly priced - video game collectibles, has set its eyes on the Triforce of Power wielder, Ganondorf. Specifically, the villainous version which originally appeared in 2003's The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Though maybe you prefer the 2013 HD remaster? The company released a small teaser image to whet fans' appetites via their Facebook page this week, and those so tempted to make the evil-doer a part of their collection will be able to pre-order the figure starting on January 20. Outfit your Hyrule Warriors with costume DLC, now available
If you missed out on pre-ordering Hyrule Warriors to snag retailer-exclusive costumes inspired by Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time (or wanted more than one set of said costumes), there's good news waiting for you in the eShop, as four costume packs are now available for $0.99 each. Note: While the full game can be purchased via Nintendo's website, the DLC waits in the wings of the Wii U eShop. The Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time costume packs each provide Link and Zelda with costumes inspired by the respective game. A fourth pack, called the Demon King Costume Set, provides two new costumes for Ganondorf - one inspired by his appearance in Ocarina of Time and one inspired by Twilight Princess. All of the costume packs now for sale are the same as those given to customers who pre-ordered (or in the case of the Ganondorf costumes, those in Club Nintendo) so be careful not to make a double purchase. Best Buy, Amazon offer Hyrule Warriors pre-order costumes
GameStop won't be the only retailer with special costumes for Link and friends when Hyrule Warriors battles for control of your Wii U on September 26. Best Buy and Amazon have also opened some special chests and ... Dun-dun-dun-DUN! ... have pulled out some exclusive costumes as well. Fans of the latest Legend of Zelda game should head over to Best Buy, where you'll get Skyward Sword-themed costumes for Link and Zelda when you pre-order the game. Those who prefer their Hero of Time to be a bit darker should opt for Amazon, which has Twilight Princess-themed costumes for the tunic-wearing swordsman and Hyrule's most-kidnappable princess. And don't forget, no matter where you pick up the game, if you're a Club Nintendo member who registers your copy before October 23, you'll receive two costumes for Zelda baddie, Ganondorf. Hyrule Warriors in the club get two legendary Ganondorf outfits
Nintendo introduced Ganondorf as a playable character for Hyrule Warriors during last night's Nintendo Direct livestream dedicated to the game. As it turns out, Club Nintendo members will have access to two special outfits for Ganondorf in the game as well. Those that buy Hyrule Warriors and register the game with Nintendo's loyalty program between September 26 and October 23 will receive a download code for the DLC, which features costumes inspired by Ganondorf's appearances in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. As the primary villain of the Legend of Zelda series, "The Demon King" Ganondorf will annihilate hordes of enemies with dark magic-like moves and his great sword. Hyrule Warriors will launch on September 26 for Wii U and will feature local cooperative multiplayer and some form of online play, though it won't have an online campaign. [Image: Nintendo]

Ganondorf, often depicted as the Big Bad of The Legend of Zelda series, will be playable in Hyrule Warriors, out September 26. This particular rendition of the Triforce of Power-wielding villain features a long mane of red-orange hair and holds a large, wicked-looking broadsword. Nintendo announced the news during its special Hyrule Warriors-themed Nintendo Direct stream, which we'll have more information on soon. First 4 Figures is notorious for making things we want to own, but are unable to afford. Even running a successful video game website our mom once called "a website" hardly means we can afford such lavish statues. Statues like the Wolf Link and Midna combo, this Metroid Prime gunship and Super Sonic. Today, we add another to the list: Ganondorf.The company's latest figure features Ganondorf's Twilight Princess form – well, one of his Twilight Princess forms anyway. If that's considered too spoilery in your book, then you probably don't want to click through the source link below. First 4 Figures basically recounts the whole ending of the game.Anyway, this 1/4 scale, 23-inch piece is set to launch early next year for $479.99, and you're free to pre-order right now. This Ganon also comes with two inter-changeable heads, one depicting the stoic look above, another a maniacal, laughing Ganon that'd probably just judge you for greedily spending so much money on yourself so let's just leave that one in the box, okay?
Zelda movie trailer whips internet into a frenzy
Ah, IGN, you very nearly had us. Your trailer for a movie based on The Legend of Zelda almost -- almost -- pulled the wool over our young, naive eyes. In fact, this is probably the most impressive, sophisticated April Fools' prank we've witnessed for some time. What gave it away? Well, there's a sliiightly budget feel to some of this. Truth be told, we've seen more convincing Ganons at cosplay conventions, while some of the acting pretty much redefined "hammy."*Goofy as it is, this is still darn excellent, and certainly more impressive than anything we could ever hope to cook up. So, let's see a show of hands: how many of you would queue around the block for tickets to this?* Not that this prevented the Lord of the Rings trilogy from being taken seriously. Yes, yours truly is the only individual in the known universe not to enjoy that overwrought, nine-hour bore-fest.
Two "new" characters for Smash Bros.
In an interview with Game Informer about The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma casually let slip that Ganondorf and Sheik would be appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. And we have to say it-- we prefer the casual, matter-of-fact "revelation" of obvious information to seeing old characters treated like a big deal in the Dojo. When asked about his involvement with Zelda characters' representations in Brawl, Aonuma indicated that his team worked closely with Masahiro Sakurai's team. He said that his team sent the initial character designs over, and then Sora tweaked them to fit Smash Bros.' style. Note to Sora: there is still plenty of time to implement Tingle. Or, if not Tingle, Old Man.
A look at some unsung DS villains
Modojo's Ryan Morgan took a trip into the underworld of DS games, finding the meanest of the mean villains and delivering stern warnings about them. These aren't the everyday spiny, cloaked, "NOOOOOOO"-bellowing villains we know, the kind that telegraph their evilness to the world, but some more insidious cads who, while they look innocuous enough, will strike and attempt to force you to feed their twisted, evil obsessions. The biggest offender? The color blue, who Nintendo seems to have collaborated with to render Brain Age players hoarse or even mute from repeated attempts at the Stroop test. Bluuuuuuuuuuuue!
New Twilight Princess screens
The British Gaming Blog is hosting a plethora of Twilight Princess screenshots which originally came from Game Reactor but have since proven difficult to track down again. Regardless, you should take a gander at the ridiculously gorgeous images (presumably from the Wii version of the game) and, as a mental exercise, try to formulate in words just how good they make you feel inside.
