As promised, Amazon kicked off their all-Wii Gold Box deals last night, with $25.98 copies of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The Gold Box deals so far include: $10 Namco Museum Remix (gone, but that's probably okay!) $40 Disney Sing It bundle with mic (expired, but that's probably okay!) $10 Trauma Center: New Blood (out of stock!) $20 We Ski (gone!) $35 Wario Land Shake It! (already claimed!) $50 DDR Hottest Party 2 bundle (expired) $30 High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance The announced Gold Box deals aren't the only discounted Wii offerings at Amazon today. As part of their "15 Days, 15 Deals" promotion, they've marked down all kinds of Wii games and accessories to ridiculous prices. We've wanted to buy a Balance Board cover for a while, but held off out of an interest in not feeling stupid for paying twenty dollars for one. $2.98 sounds about right! The promotion also includes $40 Active Life: Outdoor Challenge, $20 We Love Golf, and discounts on the Wii Fit Energy Pack (see our impressions!), replacement Wii AC adapters, and maraca shells. And hey, while you're at Amazon, why not pick up today's MP3 Daily Deal, The Muppets' Green and Red Christmas, for 99 cents?

Not even a week after Black Friday, Amazon has announced another pile of Wii deals. Tomorrow, starting at 12AM Pacific time, the retailer's "Gold Box" will feature Wii deals exclusively. If the event follows previous Gold Box theme days, the first deal will be the Deal of the Day at midnight, which will last throughout the day or until stock runs out. Additional discounts will then be revealed every couple of hours, with a one-hour time limit and a constrained supply. Which means that, if you even have any cash left over from Black Friday, and you want some Wii stuff, you may have to hover around the computer tomorrow!

Eight Wii games are going to be slashed, bashed, and crashed -- price-wise, anyway -- this Friday as Amazon preps an all-Wii Gold Box. The first, the Gold Box Deal of the Day, will be revealed at midnight Pacific time, and the other seven will be up for grabs as Lightning Deals throughout the day (starting with the first at 6 a.m. Pacific). So get your clicking fingers ready to start clicking, because surely at least one of the deals will be worth buying. Let's hope![Via GoNintendo]

If you've been holding off for just the right moment to get a PS3, that moment may be swiftly approaching: At midnight (Pacific Time) on Wednesday Amazon will be mounting a Gold Box event that features all PS3 deals, all day. Now, we admit we have no real clue what will be up for grabs or just how good the savings will be. But, hey, if the Circus of Values pulls into town and you miss it, don't come crying to us.[Via PS3 Fanboy]

  • Take advantage of a fit Gold Box deal today at Amazon [update]

Despite the crazy amount of deals Amazon threw at us last week, the online retailer has another trick up its sleeve. Of course, this time it won't be anything as grandiose -- just a single Gold Box deal, lasting from 10am-1pm PDT.The wording of the deal has caused some to speculate that Amazon will be offering Wii Fit: "No more slip-slidin' away while you get your Fit on. " However, we think this wording implies that the retailer will be offering a deal on a Wii Fit accessory, like a mat (or maybe even a whole bunch of accessories). Considering Amazon doesn't have the game itself in stock, we doubt they'd be hoarding copies just for a Gold Box when selling them regularly would be easier and more lucrative. We'll know for sure soon enough, though -- and don't worry, all you cheap readers out there, we'll keep you updated. Gallery: Wii Fit [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!][Update: The deal was revealed; you can grab this Wii Fit Balance Board Mat for $16.99 ($8 off). If interested, you have to go to the actual Gold Box (and not the item's product page) to see the slashed price.]

Hey, guess what? You can buy Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Amazon today (and today only) for $25.99! What a minute -- why are we posting about a Brawl deal on DS Fanboy, of all places? Because, friends, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Amazon is offering up nine Nintendo deals today, which (if our guesses are correct) includes five DS games. Since all of the said games are published by Nintendo you might own most of them already, but if not, they're games that are definitely worth getting for cheap. So, all you stingy folks that are able to order from Amazon.com should check past the break to see what Gold Box sales are in store for you today.

The "Nintendo Icon" Amazon Gold Box has gone live, so it's time for those of you who can shop at Amazon.com to get your credit cards at the ready. With nine different deals on the table today, you might just find something that appeals to you.The "Deal of the Day" is Super Smash Bros. Brawl for $25.99, which really leaves you with no excuse not to buy it. The lightning deals are where the excitement is always at, though, and there are eight of them that will cycle throughout the day. Before we get into what's on the list, we must say that the sales are slightly disappointing. Maybe it's just us, but we wish Amazon had included more second-party titles. After all, such games are considered "Nintendo Icons," too. There's one title in particular that we feel is sorely missing -- but we digress. To see Amazon's hints for the eight lightning deals, just click past the break.

Thrifty gamers, take note: Friday will see Amazon unleash a plethora of Nintendo-related sales. Starting at 12:01am PST, one deal will be revealed at a time, with a total of nine deals available over the course of the day.As for what exactly will be on sale, we're forced to wait until Friday. That doesn't mean we can't do some snooping, though! Check out previous sales to get an idea for what Amazon will have to offer later this week.[Thanks, sn1per!]

Deals of the day? They're great. Gold Boxes? Even better.Amazon is outdoing itself this Friday, though, by offering nine -- yes, nine -- deals for cheap gamers like ourselves. Aside from the "Deal of the Day" (which will go up at 12am PST, as usual), the online retailer will present eight lightning deals throughout the day. Starting at 6am PST, each deal will run for two hours, with the last occurring at 8pm.Note: The Gold Box says "Nintendo" sales, so while we bet there will be at least one Wii game on sale, there might be other hardware, software, or accessories on Amazon's plate. Either way, we'll keep you posted on Friday.[Thanks, sn1per!]

  • Put on your dancing shoes: Amazon Gold Box deals for rhythm games

In just a few hours, Amazon will begin another day filled with Gold Box deals on video games, this time for "rhythm/music" titles. The sale event follows a familiar format: one Deal-of-the-Day bargain posted at 12:01 AM PST, then four Lightning Deals trickled out at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM PST, each one available for only four hours or while stocks last. So, which Wii rhythm games are you expecting? There's a decent-sized list of possibilities, but, uh, not many of them would be considered "decent" themselves: Alvin and the Chipmunks Battle of the Bands Boogie Dancing with the Stars DDR Hottest Party Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock High School Musical Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore Looking at that pitiful selection, we're actually hoping that most of the bargains will be for music-based games on other platforms ... Just a reminder to all you friendly folks in the U.S. -- Amazon is having crazy DS deals today. The retailer kicked off its Gold Box sales awesomely, offering Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for $16.99. If we don't say so ourselves, that is damn sweet. You have until 12am Pacific time to bite on this, but we recommend getting it sooner rather than later because we doubt supplies will last.As for the lightning deals, we've listed them here (with our guesses for ones that haven't been confirmed yet). Keep in mind, these are in Pacific time, and each deal lasts for four hours (assuming they don't go out of stock): 6am-10am: "Will you answer the call?" - Confirmed: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for $18.99 10am-2pm: "Dazzle your unsuspecting friends with your magical prowess." - Confirmed: Master of Illusion for $14.99. 2pm-6pm: "Protect the Earth, destroy the invaders." - Confirmed: Tranformers: Autobots 6pm-10pm: "Your destiny awaits. Experience the power." - (Our guess: Naruto: Ninja Destiny) We suppose that with such an awesome "Deal of the Day," we can forgive Amazon for everything else being subpar. Keep in mind, though, that these are just our guesses. We'll update the post as other sales are confirmed.[Update 1: Master of Illusion was confirmed as the second lightning deal and was added to the post.][Update 2: Transformers: Autobots is the third lightning deal. And, would you look at that -- Master of Illusion sold out. Who would have thought?][Via CAG]

  • Tomorrow's Amazon Gold Box rumored to feature DS games

    04.24.2008

The word on the street is that Amazon's next game-related Gold Box special is going to feature five DS games, which (as you can imagine) we're very excited about. The first deal in the Gold Box is the video game "Deal of the Day," and will be made available tonight (technically tomorrow) at 12am Pacific time (or 3am EDT, if you're on the East Coast like this blogger). We know that's ridiculously late to stay up for a deal, but the beauty of it is that you don't have to. Whatever the game is (many are guessing Mario Kart DS because of the upcoming Wii game, but who knows!), it will be on sale for twenty-four hours or until stock runs out.The other four sales are considered "Lightning Deals," since the marked-down prices only last for four hours (or while supplies last). The first of these will start at 6am Pacific time, while the rest will be made available at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm.We have some ideas of our own, but what are you hoping to see on sale?[Via CAG]

Out of nowhere, Amazon has kicked off another day devoted to Wii bargains! Similar to February's series of Gold Box deals, the online retailer has put up a bargain for the day -- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for $29.99.Four additional "Lightning Deals" will also be posted at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM PST, each sale limited to its four-hour block. Most of these games sell out within minutes, though, so you'll want to start refreshing the Gold Box page around those times. Amazon has put up clues for the mystery Lightning Deals; we've accompanied them with our guesses! 6:00 AM: "The hunt is on for big game." - Cabela's Big Game Hunter 10:00 AM: "Wii will, Wii will rock you!" - Guitar Hero 3 2:00 PM: "Muster your squad to fight the terrorist threat." - Ghost Squad 6:00 PM: "Get your hardball fix without worrying about rainouts." - MLB Power Pros/MLB 2k8/The Bigs [Via CAG]

  • Amazon to offer five Wii game deals tomorrow

Amazon must have a warehouse full of Nintendo Wii games it needs to get rid of quick -- the online retailer plans to sell no less than five games tomorrow at bargain prices. The setup for the Gold Box sales is a little complicated, so let's break it down real quick: the first discounted item goes up at 12:01 AM PST tonight and will be on sale all day or until Amazon runs out of stock the second, third, fourth, and fifth deals will show up at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM PST, each one lasting for only four hours while supplies last So, what games are you hoping to see on sale? Do you think most of the markdowns will be crap -- pet sims and shovelware? Or are you expecting Amazon to step it up and offer AAA titles at dirt cheap prices?[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]
